Authentic Indian food with a touch of occasion, Idly Sambar is your next great find in Kingsland.

This is the kind of place you discover and keep going back to time and again. The venue itself is wonderfully spacious with high ceilings and an uncluttered layout that definitely gives you privacy with all the benefits of a buzzing shared space. And whilst ground level is pared back, they're opting for a lush aesthetic further up with creepers along the walls and the indoor trellises. Colourful lights also work their magic in creating a fun atmosphere that would perfectly befit your next special occasion.

They're proudly South Indian which means you can expect crispy dosas and Southern Indian specialties. Let's start with the dosas which are filled with anything from chilli cheese to marinated paneer, masala and perfectly spiced vegetables. The Indian answer to the crepe, is all dosas come with two chutneys and samber for dipping.

Other southern Indian specialties offer a huge range of textures and flavours, from salbar vada to Mysore bonda, ghee roast and button sambar idly. If, however, you want a taste of something familiar, you can always enjoy a tapas-style supper with vegetable Manchurian, chilli paneer, pepper mushroom fry and fried noodles.
