A jack of all trades that never compromises on quality, The Hudson prides itself on doing a little bit of everything and doing it exceedingly well. Welcome to the restaurant we all need when we're not entirely sure what we're craving!
Open plan, relaxed but not without a touch of luxury, The Hudson lets its motto speak for itself with its interior design. Just looking at the marble-plated bar and the shimmering, backlit bottles, you might think that The Hudson offers a high-end dining experience. However, cast your eyes over the relaxed tables and the cosy cubbies and you get a different story. The Hudson really is a bit of everything!
The same applies to their menu which takes inspiration from cuisines around the world. To begin, you can start in Italia for freshly baked focaccia and cheese, salami, or crispy squid served with chilli and lime. Alternatively, stick to NZ favourites with some pork Ribs or popcorn chicken in sriracha sauce. They also do a mean NZ cheese board with plenty of seasonal accompaniments, local chutneys and fresh bread.
As for mains, Sirloin steak served with beef dripping fries or selection of burgers available. The only one that might catch you out with a stained shirt is the Southern fried chicken burger with a sticky siracha glaze and pickled cabbage. Then wash it all down with a gin, a whisky from around the world, or one of their 16 rotating craft beers on tap. There are no judgements at The Hudson. In fact, a stained shirt is just a sign of sincere appreciation.
Friday's are a special day where you can indulge in bubbly spicy cheese fondue, plently of things to dip, an in house recipe and great for sharing or to treat yourself of a cold day.
