dinner

There’s no ambiguity about it, Noble Rot loves vino. Boasting an almost 1,000-strong wine list, it’s no surprise that they're widely considered Wellington’s premier wine bar.

An institution that celebrates the classiness of wine and everything good that comes with it, your experience at Noble Rot begins even before you step through the door. The warm, rustic-red exterior evokes the laneway eateries of Europe, inviting you into the cosy yet elegant space within. Exposed white bricks and premium leather surfaces dominate the interior, and the army of wine bottles scattered throughout - hanging in custom-made chandeliers, stacked neatly against the walls, and propped up behind the seats. These let you know that wine is the favourite child here.

While wine is the centrepiece, their range of food is designed to complement their rich selection on offer. Start with a charcuterie platter served with beetroot chutney and toasted sourdough bread, or chicken liver parfait, a dish that's been on the Noble Rot menu since day one and is immensely popular with the regulars. Then, move onto the mains with rich, flavourful meat dishes such as the prime angus beef sirloin with yellow beetroot purée or the melt-in-your-mouth braised pork risotto.

Everything at Noble Rot is geared towards helping you appreciate wine at its finest, from the carefully curated menu to a dedicated sommelier being available at all times. Whether you’re a complete wine newbie or consider yourself a bit of a connoisseur, Noble Rot is the place to go in Wellington for a wine experience like no other.
