Cuisine: Fine Dining, New Zealand
Price Point: Mains from Above $35
Fine dining has landed in one of the most exclusive locations in Wellington. Logan Brown is a name that needs no introduction, and their latest venture is literally in the heart of New Zealand’s Government buildings.
For the first time ever this famous restaurant in the Beehive has opened its doors to the public. That’s right, you can have dinner with an MP, or even the Prime Minister sitting at the next table! Dramatic grey pillars sit alongside Beautiful New Zealand Rimu Tables, making this a truly lavish place fit for any special occasion.
The menu is small but golly gosh does it leave the taste buds tingling! Their coastal lamb shoulder falls off the bone and is served with earthy buckwheat and eggplant puree. The vegetarian option might be even more decadent; the potato gnocchi is accompanied by truffle cream and oyster mushrooms.
Of course, fine dining isn’t complete without the right tipple. With all manners of wines and whiskies on the menu, it’s their extensive list of lagers, ales and stouts that catch the eye. And if that doesn’t hold your attention, Jacinda Ardern might!

We had a very cool dining experience at Bellamys and will definitely be back. The food and wine was divine and the service superb! My only regret was choosing the steak (which was delicious) over the gnocchi... I can have steak anytime! I'll have to go back for the gnocchi.
Highly recommend Bellamys. It was a fantastic dining experience.

This has to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in a very long time. Perfectly pitched service ie not too formal but very professional with amazing food in a delightful setting. Would more than highly recommend it.

After being greeted by name and whisked through security, we arrived at Bellamy's by Logan Brown. The floor to ceiling glass and the familiar curve of the windows looked out over a bustling Wellington scene.
After we were seated by the windows by our excellent waitress could take in the ambience a little more. Bellamy's is sparse in furnishings but modern, almost mid last century in its appeal. The well worn cutlery all were high quality and bore the insignia of parliament as did the china, right down to the salt and pepper shakers.
The menu is modest in dishes but more than makes up for it in quality. The wine list was extensive and heavily favored New Zealand wines, of course!
My entree of Coastal lamb belly bacon was served with the little theatre of a smoke filled glass dome, which held Manuka honey smoke. The lamb was smokey, crispy and rich. Absolutely delicious.
Our mains followed after a suitable pause and the Mission House pinot noir we chose accompanied our dishes beautifully. The aged, smoke ribeye steak was a real stand out; tender, smoky and perfectly medium rare. The side order of the truffle scented chips with the cloud of grated, tangy parmesan cheese perched atop were crispy, salty and just the best chips we'd ever had.
My main of venison with fermented blueberry ju and garlic confit was just beautifully tender and balanced. The presentation was artful but not pretentious.
In all, a fabulous meal, the only problem was we didn't have room for desserts! Service was friendly and unobtrusive, food sublime, and the evening memorable.

Had a truly lovely time with fantastic food, excellent service and great company. The service was a real stand out. I have a few dietary requirements which our waitress remembered from a previous visit and was happy to work through what it was and was not possible for me to eat in a friendly professional manner.
The side of pumpkin with coconut and lime dressing was a perfect accompaniment to the rest of the meal. The three other people at my table all had the special marinated steak which looked delicious, while I had the gnocchi which definitely was delicious. The steaks needed the sides (the pumpkin, as well as mushrooms and a green salad) to be a complete meal, but my gnocchi was a hearty portion which would have been okay without them, but was positively luxurious with them.
Highly recommend a meal here, and with a table from first table it's a real steal.

The best meal out I have ever had. The food was everything you could hope for and our waitress was delightful. Servings were generous so we left completely satisfied. My venison was melt in the mouth and my companion’s gnocchi with truffles was superb. The chocolate truffles to finish were a lovely treat.
Our table looked out over the forecourt and had a great view. The evening couldn’t have been better. We are looking for the next opportunity to go, and this time will have dessert

Lovely, calm experience at Bellamy's last night - had the whole restaurant to ourselves for 2 hours. Food was lovely, service was really top class. All round lovely and special night, with the added novelty of dining in parliament! We would not have had the freedom to try three starters, two mains, two sides, two desserts, and two drinks each, had it not been for First Table!

It was a special evening at Bellamy's. We had excellent food and service. We ordered the venison, angus steak, fish and gnocchi. We also had the sides of mushroom and parmesan chips. They were divine! We had to order a second helping of the grilled mushrooms because they were so good. Impressive! We will definitely be back!

This place will wow your taste buds! The menu is small but so many flavours in each dish. I had the special of pork belly- literally fell apart as soon as you touched it , best I have ever eaten. Hubby had the venison which was fantastic too. Great entrees also and the crumble to finish off was just heaven!
We were the only people in the restauarant all night with a lovely view out over the front of parliament which was lovely. The silver service was perfect, attentive but not over the top.
Was a fantastic dining experience all round and one of the best meals we have had. Will definately dine here again.
