Very friendly service, all four of us had something different from the menu, and all four of us really enjoyed the food.

I really liked the food (even though it had its issues). We ordered the Steak Sammie, Halloumi Salad and the bruschetta. The Steak Sammie had loads of flavour and was cooked perfectly however the meat was almost cold when it got to my table. The bruschetta had loads of flavour however it was placed on the table and the wind blew half of the topping on the floor... The restaurant its self was not well presented as the floor was very dirty and the staff member who served us drinks had food all over his shirt. We choose to sit outside because of this and because of that ended up being served by a very well dressed well mannered and friendly Canadian man whos attitude redeemed the unsettling customer experience at the start.

Booked 11am slot and had a delicious brunch. The french toast was especially delicious and the flat white was the best we’ve found in NZ! This isn’t the finest or most upmarket place you’ll find in Wellington but if you want decent portions of good food in a relaxed surroundings this is the place.

We had a lovely brunch. It is a great, central location with the water feature and green space outside.Avocado was forgotten on one order, but this was quickly remedied. Coffee was great.

The chicken burger was amazing!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Astoria. We went for lunch. The food came out nice and quick which was good cause I had to get back to work. We all ended up having the chicken burger and it was nice and fresh. The fries were hot and crunchy. It would have been nice if we were offered tomato sauce. But something to work on.

Nice central cafe/eatery for a quick bite before WOW show. Excellent service, nice variety of food options. We had Chicken burger, Prawn risotto and fish kedree with cocktails. Limited dessert options from cabinet and weren't offered coffee after our meal. First table dining was explained on arrival and discount processed with ease on leaving. We would go back again.

Do not be fooled by the description and photos! While this is central, it is a casual lunch cafe, not a proper restaurant. A bit run down *not elegant* we were surprised by the fake flowers and when they handed us our dessert in take away bags before the second course. ??

Amazing dinner date for the special occasion of my birthday. Would recommend going here for a bite to eat as the food was good and friendly staff. Nice outlook on busy Lambton quay was enjoyable. Will coming back for a coffee and some of their cabinet food.

Main dishes were excellent although we had to order off the lunch menu as they don't do a dinner menu anymore. Sharing plate of haloumi, rocket and sourdough was not shareable as was served piled up on one toasted piece of bread. Excellent service - waitress offered for us to try both pinot gris to see which we preferred. Food arrived promptly and wine refills offered. Recommend for a quick dinner as service very efficient and pleasant.

From the minute we walked in the service was outstanding / staff were very knowledgeable on wine and the menu / asking when we would like our mains so we had plenty of time between each course to enjoy the super delicious food / relaxed environment can’t wait to eat there again.

Was pleasantly surprised with how good our dining experience was at Astoria having never been there before for dinner. Really happy with the great service and the food was pretty good too. The bread with hummus was lovely. The bread with oil and dukkah was okay. I had the pork belly as a main which was delicious and moist - only downside was there was no crackling on top, the skin had been completely removed. There were no complaints from the others who had the Caesar salad and the black rice dish with halloumi. For dessert two of us had the toffee pudding and the other two had the lemon meringue tart. The toffee pudding was really good however the feed back on the tart was that it was far too sweet and there wasn’t much of a lemon taste. Cocktails were also yummy!! Over all a solid 4/5

Staff were very friendly and attentive.
The food was amazing and were generous portion wise
The steak literally melted in your mouth and the buttermilk chicken was extra crunchy.
Great coffee too, definitely recommend

Nice food and good service. More like a cafe setting and not very busy at night

Service was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend Astoria. Great atmosphere and food

Food, service and cocktails were amazing! Music was also great, the only thing I’d suggest would be to turn the lights down and light candles in the evening just to give it more of a restaurant feel rather than a bistro/ cafe. But they have only just started doing a dinner service and I would definitely go again.
