Welcoming you with open arms after a long and rewarding day adventuring (or maybe working!) in majestic Wanaka is The Prince Albert in Albert Town. Fuelled up with hearty pub classics, you'll be unstoppable!

What comes to mind when you think of a British gastropub? Solid, wooden furnishings, sports screens, cosy corners and rustic touches? You're not wrong and that's The Prince Albert all over! Even better, they're fully equipped with a pool table should you wish to unleash your competitive side!

The menu might be small, but it's hella mighty! Start off with a traditional homemade scotch egg, pork pie (honestly, could you get more British?!) or an oozing deep-fried camembert. Then, if you want to keep dinner informal, go for one of their baguettes filled with the likes of prawn mayonnaise, honey baked ham and coronation chicken (another British staple).

But if you want to go big, no-one's stopping you! Fill your boots with classic fish and chips, bangers and mash, slow-cooked beef short rib or the classic Kiwi beef burger. And like any good British pub, they've got the drinks covered. With a sizable selection of beers and ales, maybe tomorrow's hike can wait another day...?

What a great evening we had at The Price Albert. The meal exceeded our expectations. The portions were enormous and super tasty. We even got entrees too and they were super tasty too. We will definitely come back. Excellent customer service and food. You can't go wrong.

Lovely pub, meal is what you'd expect. I recommend the fish and chips and roast veg salad but my ploughman's platter was very average. Lovely friendly service

Great family night out! We took our visiting family down as the Prince Albert is our local. Not only does First Table allow us to get our 3yr old out of the house and fed early (while not getting up other patrons noses!), the discount on already reasonably priced meals made this experience a steal!

For adult diners had curry of the evening (Butter Chicken) and the Beef Short Rib. The Beef Short Rib came out as a huge serving and the meat literally fell off the bone. The veges were good and the gravy was tasty. The curry eaters were both happy with the only comment being they would prefer a naan rather than a poppadom to feel that little fuller - the only reason I gave a 4 rather than a 5 out of 5.

The service from the moment we walked in was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The staff constantly checked in on us to ask if we needed anything more and if our meals were satisfactory.

The pub itself is very clean and tidy with a great vibe and it so good to be able to take our young family out as well as older members and have everyone so well catered for.

Thanks again First Table!
