Cuisine: British, New Zealand, Seafood
Price Point: Mains from $15 - $30

Welcome to Albert Town Fish Company, where traditional British fish and chips are best served fresh!

Whilst there are many imitators of the traditional ‘fish and chippie’, Albert Town Fish Company is one of the few in New Zealand who know how to get it right. Founded by local legends Francesca Voza and James Stapley, who also own the hugely popular Francesca’s and Kika restaurants in Wanaka, Albert Town Fish Co is their newest venture, bringing fresh market fish and great-tasting food to Albert Town.

Sit down in their seaside-inspired fish bar and enjoy British classics, like beer-battered market fish with hand-cut chips, smoked fish pie or salt and pepper squid, or dive into some Kiwi-style Moules Frites with New Zealand green lip mussels. There are also gluten free options and some tasty vegetarian treats too (try the summer veg crumble), as well as a superb local wine list and craft beers available.

Using only the freshest fish and local ingredients, you’ll taste the difference at Albert Town Fish Company.

Albert town fish company is a really cute little restaurant. The salt and pepper squid was amazing! Some of the best I have had. You definitely have to try it. The beef cheek starter was also delicious. I had the fish for dinner which was yum but the rest of the dish was a little underwhelming but overall a good experience. Service was great too.

We were early diners so had the restaurant to ourselves. Service was welcoming, personal and with a smile. Oysters Kilpatrick & prawn salad for starters (both delicious) . We had both opted for the cod, salad & home cut chips, which we then found was discounted on a Fri night so even cheaper than menu price! Fish was fresh, juicy and chips nice & crisp, perhaps a bit more variety in the salad would have been good. Finished with deserts & coffee. Very happy with the service and the food, nice ambience in the restaurant, great aquarium with views into the takeaways next door.

Our first local restaurant experience after moving to Albert Town a week ago. Gorgeous restaurant, friendly and personable service and lots of patience and flexibility with our rambunctious 2 year old! We ordered too much and could have easily only ordered starters and drinks with a kids meal as the sizes are so generous. The squid and blue cod were fresh beyond belief and the beef croquettes were tender and juicy, just missing a little 'punch' in flavor but lovely nonetheless. Our burgers were fine, a bone in the cod and a lack of 'punch' with the chicken were easily overlooked. We can't wait to go back for Taco Tuesday! Thank you for a great 1st First Table experience Albert Town Fish Company. We will certainly be back, everything about this process works for us as a young family who like to dine out but not disturb other customers!

This is our third visit to the Albert Town Fish Restaurant. It is a good family restaurant, with great food and friendly service. My Prawn linguine was delicious and my husband's Surf and Turf was huge. Our kids really liked identifying all the different fish in the big tank and especially being asked to help feed the fish. Thank you.

The venue was very pleasant and the service was excellent. A couple of things were not available on the menu however there was enough choice to choose something else. The desserts were the best part of the meal. They were delicious.

Really looking forward to dinning at a seafood restaurant.Oyster season GREAT! Totally disappointed the menu showed Oysters, Clams and Prawn cocktail.None of these were available,a dish came out that replaced the prawns with shrimps not sure where they came from nothing like the shrimps we would expect, had some mushy stuff under them and was tasteless.Very unimpressed.!!However the decor and atmosphere was good and my pan fried blue cod was lovely and a generous portion. The waitress was very good but should of updated the menu from the start.Albert town Fish company need to get this sorted it is quite unacceptable to have a menu that isn't able to supply what it has to offer.!!!!Not sure that I would return here.

What a wonderful night. The food was excellent (BEST Salmon Entree I've ever had), the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the vibe at Albert Town Fish Company was so great we could have stayed there all evening. Thanks very much to all involved. Hope to be back real soon.

We enjoyed eating at the Albert Town Fish Company. My husband ordered Blue Cod and chips which was delicious. Unfortunately the salad greens are just that, nothing extra with them and drenched in a oily dressing. I suggest you ask for dressing in a separate container and dress your salad to your own liking. Roasted veges were delicious with dukkha sprinkled over. Very cheerful waitress.

We had a nice family meal out. We ordered a selection of starters and mains to share and was impressed by everything. The soft shell crab tacos are a must try!
The menu has a great kids selection. My daughter ordered fish and chips and an ice cream Sunday.
Everything was clean and they have decent high chairs with straps for little ones.
My kids were impressed by the giant community fish tank.
We will definitely be coming back!

We loved everything single aspect of it. The service was thoughtful and brilliant, thanks Ale. And the food was superb, the crab tacos and the squid were delicious and the mains great, unluckily no more room for dessert. The decoration was really nice and the ambience very cosy and friendly. Would recommend it %100. We will definitely be back
Thanks!!
