Karahui Wine Bar & Restaurant

Set in the heart of Martinborough’s wine village, Karahui Wine Bar and Restaurant brings together great food, local wine and the character of one of the town’s most beautiful historic buildings.

Housed in the original 1909 Bank of New Zealand, Karahui retains many of the building’s original features, including exposed brick walls, native timber floors and the old bank vault, alongside locally handmade chandeliers and designed details that give the space its distinctive warmth and personality.

The wine list is proudly focused on Martinborough and the wider Wairarapa, showcasing the region’s exceptional producers alongside a small selection of wines from further afield. The menu is designed with wine in mind, celebrating seasonal produce, quality New Zealand ingredients and generous, flavour-led cooking.

Expect dishes ranging from fresh local and slow-cooked meats, fresh fish, thoughtfully prepared vegetarian plates, with a menu that evolves with the seasons.
