Lovely dinner thanks

We were welcomed with a smile as we entered Kissa Kai. The heater right by the table on a cool Taupo evening was lovely. This was my husband's first experience of Japanese food. He was pleasantly surprised he enjoyed the Seaweed Salad and Sake.

Fantastic experience for dinner. Food was tasty and portions were great.
The atmosphere was very quiet as the area its in is more busy during the day but besides that it was wonderful.

our waitress was lovely and the drinks were nice, unfortunately that were the only positives. The food just had no love, our meals were very sad. We ordered 6 dishes and they were all disappointing. Unfortunately would not recommend. Hope changes can be made to help there business grow.

Friendly staff. A lot of the menu was marked "run out".

Food was very tasty and plenty of it. Portions are large, particularly the crumbed chicken. Fried lotus root is a nice change from potato fries. Place is nicely decorated. It was a public holiday so appeared fewer staff than I would expect normally and had to wait for someone to appear to be able to pay. Good value for money and wait time for food service was good.

We really enjoyed the food, drinks and service. I was a little disappointed that not all menu items were available that particular evening. I found some of the sushi rolls rather large and difficult to eat without having them fall apart. I'm not sure we would consider this restaurant again without using first table. Overall really good experience.

The service was lovely. The food had nice flavours. It was disappointing that a few of the dishes we wanted were not available when our order was taken. It might have been better to tell us when we were first given menu.

Food good, but not too many vegetarian options. Service was okay.

Great food, great prices and the service was good. Only thing we would have liked is chop sticks but after we asked we managed to get some. :)
Very small negative but the music in the restaurant could have been better as it was 'elevator music'. Apart from that, everything was good and will probably be back.

Thank you for our meal. My daughters loved the treat of freshly made sushi for dinner and we enjoyed trying different foods we hadn't eaten before - the sliced lotus root.
