New Plymouth’s Silver Spoon Indian Restaurant & Bar brings Indian heritage into sharp, contemporary focus. The kitchen relies on time-honoured techniques, fresh produce and aromatic spices to shape dishes that feel both classic and current.

Curries offer layered flavours - chettinad warms with coconut cream, while saagwala provides a silky spinach base. Coastal influences emerge through Malabari fish or prawns, brightened by tamarind. Comfort remains central, found in slow-cooked dal makhani or rich paneer lababdar.

Indo-Chinese favourites like paneer chilli and chicken chilli bring street-market energy. Chicken or lamb dum biryani perfumed with saffron rice demonstrates patient craft. For dessert, a soothing mango lassi or a sweet gulab jamun provides a fitting finale.

Settle in and follow the fragrance while Silver Spoon handles the stirring. Book your next outing to savour India with a modern New Plymouth lilt.
