breakfast

New Plymouth's number 1 cafe, Elixir serves homey meals with local, ethically sourced products.

It's a schmoozy saloon vibe over at this cosy cafe. Chequered floorboards sit alongside walls plastered in playful posters and memorabilia and when those neon lights come on, you might think you've walked into an old-school American diner. You couldn't get a more informal and friendly joint – the perfect place for a quick bite after work.

The menu offers up a range of kiwi favourites with a delicious twist. You've got a deliciously nutty homemade chocolate granola, a nourishing breakfast bowl and who could forget the french toast topped with berries and chantilly cream to see you through the morning? Fresh produce doesn't come fresher than their crispy buffalo chicken salad or creamy garlic and herb mushrooms with freshly shaved parmesan. Alternatively, go super healthy with their roast kumara and sesame bowl, bursting with healthy quinoa, beetroot hummus and pickled vege.

And with household names behind the bar, you're sure to find a bevvy that tickles your fancy. Got an early start? No problem – have a gander through their vibrant smoothies and freshly squeezed juices!
