A wonderful evening out! The service was excellent the food was well presented and the taste sensations were amazing! The steak was cooked to perfection accompanied with tantalizing sauces. The sides dishes were also beautifully presented. Overall we cannot fault this restaurant and would definitely highly recommend to others. We will definitely be returning to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and awesome dining experience. Thankyou to all the staff at left Bank for making our evening out a wonderful dining experience to always remember

Ask for the winter special! Grilled cheese freshly melted on your plate was the best. And the 500g steak was the highlight of this experience. Definitely worth coming back.

For starters the food was, overall, fantastic. Full stop. We had oysters, terrine, duck breast prosciutto (not to be missed!), whole fish, and the 350g wakanui sirloin with a half tail of butter poached crayfish.

My only piece of extremely mild criticism would be that the sautéed (a guess?) onions in the mignonette were very overpowering, and didn’t compliment the flavor of the oysters nor suite the function of mignonette.

My girlfriend didn’t think the crayfish was worth the price tag but I think that has more to do with her not enjoying that particular food item than it does to do with their preparation. Personally, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Our server was friendly and informed despite only recently starting and was able to answer our questions and give recommendations that ended up being delicious without any hesitation.

The cocktails were also fantastic, and this is coming from 2 snobby big city bartenders.

Overall easily some of the best food we’ve had in queenstown and very well worth a visit. Congrats on a really well executed vision.

We loved our meal at Left Bank Bistro. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the service was impeccable. We had the chateau briand. It takes 40 minutes to cook but is well worth the wait. You could cut the beef like butter and it melted in your mouth - highly recommended.

We were welcomed by heidi who was very friendly all the time , also my friend is coeliac and her knowledge about the dishes and her predisposition to ask to the chefs was amazing!! We order as starter lamb kidney in wine sauce they were amazing. Perfect combination of flavours, and the scallops i ordered... superb!!!!
Time of the mains many good options but i decided to try the lamb rump OMG!! Was perfect! Big portion and mouthwatering! After meals we stay there chatting enjoying a glass of wine! Everything so good leftbank! Congratulations chefs and staff! Thanks for the fabulous night!

Had an awesome time with my wife at the Left Bank Bistro. Tasteful food, I had a tender duck leg and wife a delightful slow cocked lamb. Everything was delicious and comfortable. Great service also, thanks specially to Shanay, she served us so well and gave us precious recommendations. Highly recommend.

Authentic and delicious french dining tucked away in a warm and charmingly designed café.

I recommend diving headfirst into the experience by following the advice of the servers. Our friendly server Heidi was both knowledgable with her dining recommendations and spot-on with the wine pairing.

Standouts food wise would be the Escargot, served in delicious garlic butter, and the Pineapple Creme Brulee for dessert. The drinks are quite pricey but worth it, particularly if you are a wine lover.

Overall a great experience.

Food and service were both exceptional. We shared the beef for two, it was cooked perfectly, super tender and full of flavour. Our server was super lovely and accommodating. The restaurant also had a lovely atmosphere, would highly recommend this place. The French onion soup and charcuterie board were also delicious. Overall 10/10.

Wonderful Experience! Between the four of us, we could not fault any of our meals (consisting of a cheese plater, lasagne, risotto and fish of the day). The service and atmosphere were excellent, I would highly recommend Left Bank for a lovely evening dinner.

We had an amazing night at Left Bank Bistro. The staff were warm and amazing — they're a perfect combination of personal and interested, but also giving our a nice private date night (especially Hedi, she was great). The raclette was superb, a definite must have. Finished off with a drink in the jazz lounge (complete with live jazz!). 10/10 would recommend!

We loved the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant and the quality of the service. We loved their "Bonsoir, good evening"! Each staff member was very considerate and made sure that we got every thing we asked for and even more. We received good advice on the food and wine matching.
We were offered dips and a bread selection on arrival and the starters we were recommended were delicious. Especially the perfectly cooked scallops, served with sauteed mushrooms and fresh spinach leaves! Then we ordered their signature dish Chateaubriand, a pink roasted beef tenderloin with ratatouille, frites, sauteed mushrooms, café de Paris butter (mixed with shallots and herbs, heaven!), baby carrots... As a dessert, we ordered a crepe suzette flambéed with Grand marnier, caramel and orange sauce and slices, absolutely amazing, taste and show!
We will definitely come back again to try the duck and for the lovely service!

What a wonderful experience we had for our very first time with First Table.
The staff is very lovely, helpful and made us feel welcome from the start. Menu is quite diverse so anyone can find something they can enjoy.
We had snails, scallops, duck... everything tasted like heaven!
We also had some French red wines which tasted amazing. Overall great experience and I would recommend this restaurant to absolutely anyone who loves good wine and good food!

Dont know why this spot isn't more popular. The Brazilian and French waitresses were chatty and friendly and the food was better than any other first table I've had so far. Simple but delicious. 10/10.

We had a lovely evening catching up with friends, we even had the table next to us come join us. It was a great venue in a relaxed and ambient atmosphere. Food and wine were sensational. We are looking forward to going to the Left Bank again soon. Thank you for a memorable evening.

We had a wonderful night at Left Bank Bistro thanks to First Table. It was a “last family meal” before our two kids went to Uni and it was pretty special. We had the escargot and scallops to share as an entree and my husband and I had the Chateaubrand beef which was amazing. Our big kids had the duck and the steak which were both delicious.
The complimentary breads and dips were very much appreciated. The service was awesome. Very friendly and attentive. I feel like I need to tell the world how good this place is.

Lovely decor. Beautiful food and attentive staff. I had grilled market fish (John Dory) with steamed vegies (asparagus, carrots and chooped tomato, onion and peppers). It was light and tasty. My husband had a beautiful rich creamy vegetable lasagne. Highly recomebd left bank bistro.

Something perfect, just to remind me how fantastic this city is ! I' m from France, and i have to admit, if there' s one thing that i miss, it' s the food !! Cheese, wine, and so much more that it would be too long to list it.. What a great surprise, when, a few weeks ago, i heard that the "Raclette", a traditional French winter dish, as famous as a Fondue or a Tartiflette, usually eaten in the mountains (Alps, ski resorts) is coming in town ! Served on a large wooden board, you can find all of the ingredients for a successful meal : charcuterie (delicious thin slices of cold meat) and potatoes, covered by melting cheese, that the amazing team on the floor pours just in front of you, at the table.. It is as good for your diet as a greasy Burger, but .. You can even find salad on your board, just in case you' re feeling guilty.. You can ask for more cheese if you need to, for an little extra of $6.. I advice everyone who hasn' t try this dish yet to run over there and do it ! you won' t regret it ! it is of course not dairy free, or vegetarian..

From the moment we walked in the door, the service was friendly and professional. The decor is lovely and the fire was going on this freezing night. The maitre D'offered us a choice of table, which was a nice touch. We heard her do this all night - even offering newly vacated tables and if the guests chose them, kindly asked them to wait a moment while it was re-set - inconvenient for staff, but better that guests relax.
I LOVE that they bring complimentary breads and dips! No-one does that anymore - a happy surprise.
We could smell the Onion soup from several tables away, so my husband had to have that. Perfection! I had Gravlax starter on brioche & ratatouille with a generous side of greens - beautiful blend of flavours. One of us ordered Fillet of beef and the other Cardrona lamb - both cooked just as ordered and generous sizes and served with some vegetables... we did order spinach and bacon and fries between us - but not really necessary as the plate was a meal.
I had to fit in the Crepe Suzette - again so generously sized with flambe liqueur and berry sorbet . Just loved every moment of this rare date night in a French restaurant!

Service was polite, but it was a little disappointing that we had to work to get the staff's attention to order despite the restaurant being empty.

Chicken wrap was nice enough, but at least 80% lettuce and so much avocado it made it hard to eat. Complimentary bread and oil/butter was a nice touch.
