In the heart of Queenstown CBD, Le Petit Chef turns dinner into theatre. This renowned dining show, brought to you by Crowne Plaza, merges innovation, taste and stunning visual storytelling to whisk guests into the animated world of the world’s smallest chef. Expect an immersive, playful narrative unfolding across the table, where each course cues a new scene and the line between plate and performance deliciously blurs.
The culinary journey drifts from sunlit Mediterranean notes to coastal classics and New Zealand provenance. A caprese salad celebrates heirloom local tomato and fragrant basil microgreens before a bouillabaisse evokes the shore, starring Stewart Island mussels and tender tiger prawn or the line-caught fish of the day. Corn-fed chicken is paired with a silky brown Swiss mushroom ragout, while the BBQ course brings either New Zealand wagyu striploin or a pure south beef eye fillet with bright, green crunch.
Vegetarians are equally well cast, with a gardener’s “bouillabaisse” in saffron broth, mānuka-glazed eggplant with kumara, and charred New Zealand lion’s mane offering depth and smoke. A simple finale of vanilla bean ice cream with honeycomb bows out on a nostalgic, honeyed note, and little diners are looked after with a petit salad and mozzarella crumbs.
Book a seat, settle in and let the tiniest chef serve the biggest smiles. Lights, appetite, action.
