dinner

The tropical beaches of Baja California have landed in alpine Queenstown and are spreading eternally summery vibes alongside some of the best Mexican food the adventure town has ever seen.

Inside Baja, enjoy the heat of the arid desert. This is where foot-tall cactuses flourish, where endless mellow yellow sunsets are re-enacted with soft bamboo lanterns, and where the lake and mountain views across Beach Street are the only reminder that you're in NZ's stunning South Island.

The menu is where the cultures of Mexico, California and NZ really collide. Enjoy the easy-going vibe of California with some starters and tacos to get the ball rolling. Revitalise the taste buds with market fish ceviche, loaded nachos and stuffed jalapeños alongside your first cocktail. Alternatively, make a bit of a mess with tacos filled with baja fish, confit duck leg and slow-cooked brisket.

Bigger plates turn the evening up a gear with mega burritos, enchiladas and fajitas. As well as that, you have tequila-glazed pork ribs, Mexican chicken and cajun-spiced blue cod. And you simply can't leave without sampling their signature margaritas, or the Baja churros that come with some velvety chocolate dipping sauce!

Please note: Baja is located on the upper level of the building and accessible only via stairs. Unfortunately, there is no lift or wheelchair access at this time, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
