Situated within Ayrburn Precinct, on the Lake Hayes-Arrowtown Road you'll find The Manure Room Wine Bar offering a curious blend of history and sophistication that's as rich as the wines poured within its walls.

Echoing the clandestine charm of a bygone speakeasy, this wine bar marries rustic elegance with a hint of whimsy. The ambiance is set by the warm glow of vintage lighting and the sound of glasses meeting, inviting you into a cosy retreat from the world outside. Here, conversations flow as freely as the wine, and every sip is infused with the tales of a historic past.

The stars of the show are without a doubt the tapas, created to pair perfectly with your chosen drink. You've got to try the chicken liver parfait, tenderly layered onto brioche with caramelised onion and chive, or the sumptuous wagyu beef skewer, matched with a bold crying tiger sauce. For a taste of the ocean, the grilled whole tiger prawns, served with tangy garlic butter and nduja herb crumb, are second to none. And if you’re after variety, the Manure Room Tasting Plate offers a mouthwatering selection of cured meats and cheeses.

As for drinks, the wine flights take you on a trip through the Ayrburn vineyards of Central Otago, Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay, and the hosted wine tastings teach you the art of viniculture. If wine's not your thing, we have a full cocktail list that offers creations that are inventive and enjoyable. With each glass raised, The Manure Room not only celebrates the spirit of Arrowtown but also creates an experience as memorable as the stories that inspired it.
