Highlands mini golf brings big personality to Cromwell, featuring an 18-hole outdoor course where every putt tells a story.

Players wind beneath the neon fun of the CromVegas sign, trace the scenic curves of the Lake Dunstan trail, and finish with a flourish at the Lightning McQuinn hole, a cheeky nod to fans keen to channel their inner racer. Playful set-pieces pop up throughout, from a giant Cromwell fruit sculpture to a slippery lizard that's trickier than it looks, all framed by stunning Central Otago backdrops and plenty of photo moments.

Once the game is wrapped up, refuel at Highlands Cafe with a menu that favours big flavours and comfort done with a grin. Think turbo-loaded fries, including cheesy fries with gravy and Korean BBQ fries topped with Kewpie mayo and spring onion.

Over on the main grid, crowd-pleasers range from breakfast staples like eggs benny to lunch favourites such as the cha sui pork belly burger with pickled vegetables and Sriracha mayo. There are also trackside pizzas on offer, including chicken with plum sauce and rocket, or roasted garlic with red onion and melting cheeses.

Little racers are well looked after too, with options like a kids bacon buttie or classic fish n’ chips.

Gather the crew, grab a putter, and make a day of it - ready, set, putt!
