In Kensington, Whangārei, Khane Bahar Indian Restaurant focuses on the essentials - beloved classics, intriguing extras, and great food at affordable prices. This is Indian cooking with broad appeal, where comfort and colour meet in a menu designed to satisfy cravings and spark curiosity.

A crisp vegetable samosa sets the tone, while samosa chaat arrives tumbled with chickpeas, yoghurt, tamarind and mint. Street-food spirit runs through pav bhaji and veg momos, before the kitchen leans into slow-simmered richness - butter chicken in a silky tomato and butter gravy, chicken tikka masala layered with onion and spice, lamb rogan josh with its deep allure, and lamb nawabi rounded by cashew. Goat finds its spotlight too, from a robust goat curry to a gently creamy goat masala.

From light bites to hearty plates, Khane Bahar’s an easy choice for everyday dining and celebratory suppers alike. Expect bold flavours, familiar favourites, and value front and centre. Book a table, follow the aroma, and let Khane Bahar curry favour!
