In Blenheim, Tamarind Indian Restaurant brings the sunshine and spice of South Indian cooking to Marlborough.

Driven by a genuine culinary passion, the team want guests to fall in love with the cuisine, drawing authenticity from the four southern states, with a special nod to Kerala, the land of spices. Expect light, fresh flavours and a gentle layering of aromatics in every dish.

The menu moves effortlessly from street-side snacks to soulful curries - crisp samosa and vegetable pakora give way to the aromatic char of chicken tikka, while chilli garlic prawns nod to Kerala’s love of seafood.

Fragrant biryani, parotta to scoop and savour, and regional specials such as chicken or lamb Chettinad further showcase this unique character.

For comfort seekers, options like butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, butter paneer or saag paneer await, while Indo-Chinese favourites like chilli chicken and chicken fried rice add a lively counterpoint.

Beyond the plate, the mood is homely and cosy, the service friendly, and the pace laidback. It's the perfect spot for an easy lunch or dinner, whether grazing on a mixed platter, sharing a biryani, or simply lingering as the spices unwind into warmth.

Follow the aromas south, take a seat, and let Tamarind’s kitchen show why Kerala is celebrated as the land of spices. Drop in when the craving strikes and brighten your day - the Tamarind way!
