In Japanese, 'mugen' (pronounced moo-gen) means limitless, boundless or infinity – but it also doubles as the name of Christchurch's newest sushi sensation. Mugen has expanded to three locations across Canterbury, fulfilling your sushi cravings and adding a fresh touch to Wigram's dining landscape.

It's a pick-your-own sushi restaurant. Freshly made sushi all made with locally sourced ingredients. Modern interior, comforting light wood furnishings, lighting up the wide variety of sushi on display.

Embark on your own sushi adventure here, with a diverse selection of juicy, fresh ingredients to choose from. Start your culinary journey with a small plate of crispy takoyaki (octopus balls) or opt for the veggie takoyaki if you prefer. Feeling bold? Treat yourself to some gyoza while you contemplate your sushi choices.

If you're in the mood for nigiri, dive into their diverse array of fresh fish, spicy salmon gumkan, fish katsu nigiri or indulge in buttery unagi (eel) nigiri and succulent salmon nigiri. For those craving variety, explore their combo rolls, offering a taste of everything in one bite. From the explosive volcano roll to the fusion dragon roll.

At Mugen, it's all about embracing variety and savoring the flavors of Japan, right here in Christchurch.
