dinner

This winter, SUPER invites diners to escape the cold and settle into one of Lyttelton's most atmospheric dining rooms. Beneath the beams of the port town's oldest surviving heritage building, Japanese and Māori traditions meet in a space that feels intimate. Thoughtful interiors glow with warm light, attentive service arrives with easy confidence, and the harbour's chill quickly gives way to a sense of comfort, connection, and discovery.

This trust-the-chef experience is designed for guests to discover the kitchen at its most creative. Guided by seasonality, availability, and inspiration, the chefs curate a generous feast that showcases both SUPER creatives and favourites.

No two experiences are exactly alike. One week, a bounty of fresh local seafood may inspire an abundant harbour feast; the next, exceptional produce from local growers or a newly developed special may shape the menu.

Expect a progression of dishes designed for sharing, moving effortlessly between delicate and bold, familiar and unexpected. Japanese techniques, local ingredients, and a deep respect for flavour underpin every plate, while the kitchen's daily creativity ensures there is always something new to discover.

Sit back, trust the chef and enjoy a feast shaped by the seasons and the stories unfolding in the kitchen that day.

The bar is equally considered, from New Zealand wines and crisp tap beers to playful signatures like the Kawakawa Soda Pop or a miso caramel espresso martini. Leave room for something sweet and stay for the afterglow. Book a table, bring good company, and let the harbour breeze meet a little city sparkle.
