Southeast Asian cuisine that's designed to nourish and console in equal measure, so it's only right that this eatery is named after the yummiest sound ever invented.

Welcome to Nom Nom Kitchen, Lincoln's favourite Asian eatery that is located away from Christchurch's hustle and bustle. They call a stand-alone wooden building home, and it's a truly reviving space. Thanks to a glass wall that looks out over the surrounding green, there's no better place to leave the day behind and watch the sunset over a warming bowl of Pho or a mountain of noodles.

Southeast Asia might be big, but Nom Nom has created a menu that acknowledges all of the greatest flavours and dishes that make this area of the world such a hotspot for foodies. There's nothing like a Singapore Laksa or Tom Yum soup to get the evening off to a great start. Add to that some spicy chicken wings, Vietnamese spring rolls or deep-fried dumplings, and you might succumb to ruining your appetite altogether. But the best is yet to come.

For mains, treat your tastebuds to bold, aromatic, fresh flavours. Start with the stir-fries which feature subtle hints of lemongrass, fiery ginger, sizzling black pepper and sweet and sour components - all doused with a liberal splash of soy sauce, of course. Next, peruse the rice and noodle dishes that tour Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong before checking out Thailand's famous curries. And if you can't find that sweet spot, the chef's specials, featuring marinated lamb shank, slow-cooked pork belly, seafood curry and Chinese fish tempura, will have something that'll squeeze an involuntary "nom nom" out of you in no time.
