In the heart of Halswell, Christchurch's beloved Roti Chai is a restaurant that effortlessly marries traditional Indian spices with fresh Kiwi ingredients.

Inspired by Indian street food and the vibrant culinary scene of Mumbai, experience authentic flavours in an atmosphere far removed from the novelty of Indian restaurants of yesteryear. Step into an inviting space with walls adorned with stunning artwork that transports you to the bustling streets of India.

Start your journey with our irresistible naan and savoury lamb samosas or delve into the tandoor menu, featuring tender chicken tikka, succulent reshmi kebab, or flavorful lamb seekh kebab, each meticulously prepared to perfection.

Next, explore a variety of authentic curries, from the creamy butter chicken to the aromatic lamb Rogan josh, paired with fragrant rice, dips, and a curated selection of wines and beverages to complement your meal.

End your culinary adventure with a dessert that steals the spotlight—the signature carrot halwa, a sweet treat that captures the essence of homemade goodness and Indian tradition.

The food at Roti Chai is undoubtedly top-notch and will have you seriously considering second helpings.
