We had a table by the fire. It was a very cost set up for the evening for four. We ordered the whole prawns, mushroom and parmesan croquettes for starters - such a great way to start the night. Our waitress was polite and helped us choose our mains. We had the paella, salad and lamb, great arrangement of food to share! Loved it team!

The restaurant is beautiful with some lovely views over the Botanic Gardens. We had a delicious meal with tapas, mains, and desserts. The almond tart was a particular highlight. The staff were excellent - friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We were never left waiting for service when we were ready to order or needed plates cleared, yet we never felt rushed. They were also happy to work around my dietary requirements. We definitely plan on going back!

The environment was warm with the fire nearby, and views of the garden was stunning. Our server was professional, well-dressed, polite and helpful. The food was plated nicely, and tasted superb. The portion size was generous.
The deserts were the best I have ever tasted.

If you have not tried Curator's house before, or are even a competitor, please visit, as these guys get everything right.

We were so fortunate the evening we had our meal at the Curators house the weather was perfect so we sat outside to dine amongst the gorgeous garden with a view over the public gardens as well. We had Venison and lamb. Both were cooked to perfection and had very generous portions. Service was good. Couldn't fault this unique place. A lovely birthday treat.

I think we had the best table in the restaurant, with a view out over the kitchen garden. The food was great and the staff friendly. Portion sizes were good and we left content.

As required, we preordered the dish but it still took quite a while to be ready. Nevertheless the waitering staff was polite and helpful and we had the best paella in town. Will definitely return to enjoy this exquisite Spanish restaurant.

Wonderful building creates the ambience that greets you on entering. Well met by attentive and friendly staff offering a choice of table. The service was quick and efficient with drinks arriving promptly followed closely by the wonderful mixed tapas entree. Highly recommend this to get a great taste of Spain.
Main courses were excellant and we unfortunately had no room for dessert.
A great experience.

The ambience was good, room comfortable as they had a lovely fire going in the fireplace. Service was great, food very tasty. We had the Paella as a main meal and having booked the First Table of the evening - a great discount, which made the occasion even more special - Our 29 Year Anniversary.

Absolutely amazing., more perfect than I would have expected. Service excellent, food variety and presentation, also excellent. Tastes I havent experienced for a long time, and some new ones I had not had. Looking out from our table onto a flowering magnolia tree was extra special. A 10/10
As this evening was to celebrate a birthday, a Happy Birthday in chocolate on the side of the dessert plate was a surprise ending of a lovely evening.

Ive wanted t go for ages after hearing everyone always have good things to cay about the food - well I am now one of those people! We ordered a glass of Cava on arrival - which was filled to the brim (thank you) followed by 2 glasses of wine each over the course of 2 hours. We opted for the tasting platter - a great selection of tapas and just enough to give us a taste! We decided to add the prawns - to die for, the lamb cutlets - were lovely but I think I would skip these next time and we also ordered the Serrano Jamon - oh my giddy aunt the Jamon was excellent! The total bill came to $120 including drinks which we think is EXCEPTIONAL value. Cat wait for Summer - I already have visions of lazy sunny afternoons sipping wine and eating more delicious Tapas in the Curators outdoor area!

A Return visit to the Curators House which is a special place on a vibrant Christchurch day, about 17d at mid day but sunny and sparkling in our Beautiful Gardens.
On arrival, our waitress was very patient and ensuring the sun was not over our table and making us comfortable.
On this occasion, we both ordered the Lamb Shoulder accompanied with a delicious jus plus vegetables- if you enjoy a fix of meat, just yummy and not as large a meal as it first appeared. A yes from both of us.

For desert, we went halves on two separate deserts. For me, The Volcan de chocolate at $17.00 - Warm decadent chocolate pudding with a hazelnut chocolate liquid centre served with Caribbean raisin ice cream - for her, GFTarta de santiago – almond tarte at $15.00 which is the famous Spanish almond tarte from the Pilgrim's town of Santiago de compostela dusted in icing sugar, with triple chocolate ice-cream served traditionally.
Both were very good and moderately generous servings.
This restaurant is not cheap but has good menus and quite lengthy wine list.
It is a Spanish Restaurant set in our Beautiful Gardens with a long range of Tappas available and for a special occasion, I would certainly recommend it, especially on a sunny day in that lovely environment. Pretty good for a coffee and something sweet too and don't miss the excellent Herb garden out the back which is well worth a visit.

Lovely atmosphere, enjoyed being by the fire. Four of us enjoyed 4 tapas and 4 mains and were too full to have dessert despite finding the dessert menu tempting. All dishes were generous I size and taste. Definitely worth a visit and of course First table is fabulous

This restaurant has improved and in my opinion has now reached a very high standard. Linen napkins which are unusual even in the more expensive places were provided. Table was great with views outside. Small gas fire added to the atmosphere. Good attentive service The Langostinos dish was a good size and the chef, when requested, adjusted its taste to our requirement. I loved the depth of flavour of this dish. The Crema Catalana desert was up to standard and their Affagato with Spanish Brandy is a must try. The reserve red Spanish wine was an excellent choice and went well with the dishes. Recommend this restaurant..
