Great dinner location with the feel of an old bank and very attentive wait staff. All our meals came out together even with all meals being extremely different. I can completely recommend Baretta as a place to enjoy dinner out

We have walked passed Bareta a number of times and finally popped in to have a meal on date night. On a winter evening, we found it very warm and toasty and very nicely decorated. Our Russian waiter was very attentive but not overbearing and very much liked his friendly and polite demeanour. We had the Wakanui beef and Crispy pork and it was absolutely delicious. They were very accommodating with my allergies and checked in on the alternate option to make sure I was ok with it. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and keen to come back to try the 5 course degustation!

Our first experience with using First Table and we went to Baretta in Christchurch. Very highly recommended. The food was wonderful, good sized portions and good timing between courses. 2 wait staff looked after the whole restaurant, and worked really well together. I can't fault the night and will definitely be back.

Warm and inviting on a cold evening. It was a very cold night so to walk into Baretta and find the restaurant warm was a good start to a lovely early evening meal. We shared the Creole Fried Chicken to start and felt there was plenty there for two of us. Followed by the 200gm Wakanui Fillet that was ordered by one of us and was cooked to perfection also packed with taste, served with mash and vegetables. And Crispy Pork Belly with apple slaw and sweet potato rosti was delicious. The food was hot and there was plenty of it. We couldn't fit in a dessert. The service was prompt and attentive. There were groups as well as many couples and families dining. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great experience at Baretta! Delicious starters which are good for sharing, loved the Fried Ravioli and Arancini, both delicious! Pizza's were great too, big size and staff were friendly and allowed you to take home any leftovers. Even had room for dessert which was great! Would recommend the cheesecake! Will definitely be coming back!

This visit was smooth and totally enjoyable from start to finish.
Our waiter (Courtney) was efficient, friendly and helpful, appropriately attentive and professional in every way.

The food was superb, I had Snapper with a very generous plate of deliciously cooked seasonal vegetables my friend had chicken pizza which was apparently also delicious.

The cocktails were superb also.

All in all a very satisfying preliminary to a theatre evening. I will be going back.

From the moment we arrived we enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. The waitress was welcoming and efficient. Our orders were placed and the food arrived very quickly. I had 2 entrees for my main, the arancini balls and the seared tuna. They were both fantastic dishes, loved the freshness of the watermelon soaked in rose water. The others had the monk fish and tagliatelle dishes. Both were also delicious. Affogatos were asked for dessert, they weren't on the menu and these were accepted with grace by the staff who were happy to make them. We also had the lemon tart and cheese platter. Both were excellent ways to end dinner with. Would highly recommend Baretta to any one wanting a delicious night out.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. It was a long overdue family reunion with three generations present, which can be a little tricky for choice of food. The menu was not extensive but certainly everyone found something which we enjoyed, including a vegetarian. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Surroundings felt luxurious and noise from the bar alongside not loud or off putting. A great night - thank you :)

We had a wonderful evening at Barretta. The staff were warm, caring, and helpful. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. The menu isn’t huge, but they do a fantastic job and have all the bases covered. We all left saying it was a great restaurant and we definitely want to come back again.

We enjoyed our evening at Baretta, the food was enjoyable, very fresh and nicely put together, and the service was really friendly and attentive.

We both ordered the fish of the day, which was a piece of crumbed snapper and a piece of crumbed salmon, with a nice sauce. It was accompanied by beetroot chips and a nice beetroot tart with microgreens on top. We added a side of fries to share.
We both enjoyed our meals, the highlights being the lovely fresh snapper and the crispy fries.

Our desserts were creme brulee and chocolate pudding. The creme brulee was really nice, it was the better of the two desserts, with the chocolate pudding needing a bit more sauce, but still tasty.

We felt well looked after all night, and the restaurant setting is beautiful. I highly recommend Baretta for a night out

Such a beautiful restaurant, the service was spot on - from offering to take our coats, to topping up water glasses throughout the night, great description and menu knowledge and really friendly and welcoming staff! The food was absolutely delicious, I require gluten free meals and our server had great knowledge of the menu... I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t order the risotto gluten free and opted for a pizza instead however, I was extremely happy with my choice. THE BEST gluten free pizza base I have ever eaten! Our server told me it was house made and honestly it tasted amazing and others at the table couldn’t tell it was gluten free!
Overall an extremely positive dining experience and I would go back any day of the week and recommend 100% recommend Baretta!!

We had a fabulous night. Thank you. Lovely and warm and welcoming and delicious food. Great service too. Between us we had the beef wellington, the pork belly, the fish and the chicken mushroom pasta. They were all delicious and very generous serves with lots of delicious vegetables on the side. The chicken mushroom pasta was the most flavoursome I have ever had. Yummy. We shared the chocolate pudding for dessert and it was really a melting lava cake and it was very impressive. Scrumptious.

Dessert was a highlight with a chocolate pudding and gooey chocolate inside!

Great dinner experience. Welcomed by the front of house staff well, taken to our table, talked through the menu and then the staff timed coming to ask us for our orders just after we had actually looked at the menu's. Perfect dinner out. Thanks!

Beautiful decor. Great lightning for a romantic meal. Was a bit cold because they kept the main door open all night on a cold Canterbury night. Bring a jersey if you are dining in the winter.
Amazing food. We shared the Jalapeno Cheese Fondue and there was plenty for two people. We also had the pork belly which had a nice crispy skin and Beef Wellington which was cooked to perfection.

The greeting was friendly and he had a sense of humour which I appreciated. I was trying to remember the last time my wine had been poured at the table - nice touch. The waiters were attentive without being a nuisance.
The main course was delicious. I had the prawn and saffron rissotto - YUM!
The dessert was the only let down with the brandy wafer having a burnt taste although it did not look burnt. Not enough to put me off going there again and again.

Popped into Baretta on a cold and wet Friday night. We were greeted by friendly, no fuss waitstaff and a warm inviting dining area.
The menu has a good selection without being overcrowded. We went for a bottle of the house wine, a Pinot noir which was very nice.
The Creole chicken starter was a highlight, and also the Pork belly main.
Food came out in good time, and the attentive staff were on hand for anything required.

Lovely dinner at Baretta. The restaurant has a grand feel to it. A little disappointed the menu was quite different to that on the restaurant website, but the options were good.

Food was excellent on the whole. In particular the sliders were delicious. Mains were good, however felt that the lamb main should have been served with something other than just leeks to make a complete meal. Caramel cake dessert was lovely, but a tiny portion. Overall very enjoyable and would come again.

- dined at Baretta on

Gorgeous food and the best service. We felt well looked after by our waitress. The food was fantastic. The chocolate and caramel dessert could have used some ice cream, or yoghurt or cream. Other than this outstanding food. Highly recommended this restaurant! Thanks for a wonderful evening.

The atmosphere is lovely with the beautiful wall coverings and impressive lights. The waitress was very skilled, knowledgeable and her memory was impressive of the food and drinks.
We enjoyed fish of the day, pizza and the pork, everyone liking their choices for mains. We shared dips, breads and the duck parfait which were tasty and the aranchini balls as starters.
Due to having a movie to go to we didn't have dessert but there were ones we would definitely have had, if time was on our side.

- dined at Baretta on

Worst dining experience we have ever had. Was meant to be a special day for a birthday dinner. But 2 of our mains were quite clearly reheated from quite a few days ago. The potatoe side to the pork belly was a brick and the pork was dried out, the crackling totally chewy from being reheated. We really should have returned it to the kitchen as it was not edible. The pizza was drowning in oil and the parfait had a very odd flavour to it like it may have been off. When we tried to explain our issues to the wait staff we were laughed at and they just didn't say anything to us. Horrible experience.
