We were the only diners but the waitress was attentive and polite. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The decor is a little dated but it is a suburban restaurant after all.

We both had the pork belly meal - very moist and rich with a nice selection of veges.

For my birthday, we were going to a show at 7.30 pm so a First Table meal at 5.30 worked out perfectly for us, and I had been wanting to try 'Sevantis' from articles I had read. We both shared a Garlic bread, had the Sirloin Steak cooked to our separate liking and followed by a scrumptious berry cheesecake. We enjoyed the drinks we had with the meal and the waitresses was excellent also. I look forward to returning there again.

Had the restaurant to ourselves most of the time. Great starters. We had steak which was slightly overlooked for our liking, overall very nice though.

A nice, quiet location. The restaurant is clean and well-presented. Wine list is not extensive, but the wines served are good quality. We had salmon and herbed lamb rack. Both attractively plated, cooked well, hot and tasty. Generous portions. Sides of mushrooms and potatoes easily served two. The service was prompt, polite and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant for couples or groups, and for family gatherings.

We had a wonderful meal last night, my salmon was cooked to perfection set on a fresh salad full of flavour. The sticky date pudding was lovely. We will definitely be coming back.

We ordered chicken pate for sharing as our entree, I must say, it was yummy and the flavour combination with pickles and sun dried tomatoes were amazing. My husband ordered the t-bone steak and it was cooked to perfection. He has always been very fussy with his food. But this time, he was really satisfied. I ordered beef fillet with polenta cakes. I left the plate clean which says it all. As much as we wanted to try their desserts, we were really full as the servings were filling. Maybe we will try desserts next time...yes there's a next time!

Sevanti's restaurant is tucked away in the suburb of Burnside. All the foot traffic appeared to be children and teenagers heading to the local dairy for some goodies and the only cars about were those who had made bookings at the restaurant. Therefore, without First Table, I would never have known about this place and would have likely never stumbled across it. We were, surprisingly, the first people to arrive at this restaurant which also doubles as a cafe during the day, but the dinner service started to pick up from 6pm with quite a few parties arriving. The decor was quite pleasant and classy and the host for the night was polite and amicable. I ordered the classic Pork Belly and my partner had the fish. Both meals were very timely and presentation was excellent. I was slightly intrigued that the Pork Belly was to be served with bok choy, however that in combination with the kumara miso puree led to an excellent taste experience. If anything, I would have liked a few more vegetables on the plate. The fish of the day was groper, which was cooked nicely with a good combination of flavours. Of course with 50% off our food bill, we decided to have dessert as well; the chocolate fondant and lemon tart. I cannot stress enough how amazing the fondant was. I have been to quite a few restaurants around Christchurch and ordered fondant before and it is never quite right. But this was perfect. In combination with the creme chantilly, a few berries and, ingeniously, shaved pineapple, the fondant could not have been better. The lemon tart was also good, but not as good. My favourite part was the top coating of caramelised sugar. Overall, a perfectly quaint and pleasant restaurant. The quality of the food was wonderful and the fondant was to die for. Would recommend.

The food was good, plating was a little sloppy. The staff didn't seem to know their food too well. Nice clean modern restaurant.
