The Blue Door, nestled on the scenic waterfront of Paihia, offers a visually stunning view of the Bay of Islands, a delightful backdrop for your dining experience.

Blending Asian techniques with local Kiwi flavours, The Blue Door offers a unique culinary adventure through a diverse and irresistible menu. Open daily from 8 am to 9 pm, diners are treated to a breath-taking panorama over the Bay of Paihia, setting the stage for a memorable experience. Inside, the cool blue tones of the interior perfectly complement the vibrant views outdoors, creating a relaxed and inviting space to sit back and savour every bite.

From small plates to hearty mains, each dish is as tantalising in presentation as it is in flavour, catering to a wide range of diets including vegetarian and gluten-free options. Standout small plates include crispy cauliflower popcorn with vegan mayo, three-hour slow-cooked lamb roti topped with a dollop of dill yoghurt, and grilled beef with Vietnamese salad and a drizzle of lemongrass sauce.

Large plates at The Blue Door are designed for sharing, ideal for keeping the conversation flowing among great friends. Classic fish and chips offer the ultimate comfort, while the hearty seafood chowder served with ciabatta is equally satisfying. For something fluffy and veggie-forward, the pumpkin and lentil roti is fried to perfection and served with a zesty slaw.

Room for dessert? The toffee banana rolls are crunchy on the outside with sweet banana inside, topped with creamy Kapiti ice cream.

Whatever the occasion, The Blue Door delivers. Whether you're marking a special celebration or simply enjoying a night out, it brings a sense of calm to the vibrant, soul-nurturing environment that is the Bay of Islands.
