We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation but the manager was super friendly and escorted us to our already reserved table. Once we were seated he offered us some popcorn complimentary. They have a good selection of drinks. The food and the drinks arrived soon we loved all the dishes. The highlight of the evening was the Miss Clawdy famous fried chicken. It was served piping hot with an awesome sauce. We then had the corn bread and shrimp grits. The former was served with a special dip and the latter was jumbo prawns served on a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes, cherry tomatoes and greens. Finally we had the jambalaya we had to have the food in that order as the table we were seated was quite small and cramped it couldn’t accommodate all the dishes at a once we were a group of three. Overall we really enjoyed the food and the superb service!

The meal I had at Miss Clawdy was one of the best meals I've ever had. The atmosphere was great, the service was too and the food was excellent - not too heavy and very delicious. Myself and my partner had the fried chicken, poutine, crab dip and shrimp and grits - and it was all wonderful. As soon as we left, we said that we'd definitely go back again.

Oh LAWDY, Miss Clawdy!! Maybe the best fried chicken I’ve had!! Mushroom taco filling was delicious, but the taco itself had quite an overpowering flavour. Eggplant was great and desserts were delicious! Will be back, for sure!

Great food and excellent friendly service. It was our first time there and their recommendations were all very helpful. The jambalaya was perfect!

My partner and I where both super happy with the great food, generous portions and friendly attentive staff Miss Clawdy had to offer. The amazing location also made for an epic after meal stroll. Would love to go back!

We loved our experience at miss clawdys, the food was so tasty and the mains were the perfect size. The entrees are our favourite we ordered too much food in our enthusiasm and had to takeaway. This food is the most delicious comfort food. The chips (even chips are stand out delicious?) and cornbread are just 2 of my favourite items.

Enjoyed the dinner prior to the show at ASB Theatre with Miss Clawdy being close to the theatre there was no rush. Chicken was great and so was the eggplant dish. Service was prompt and we would go back again.

Very affordable and generous size portions. Delicious options and we found it difficult to choose. So we will just have to go back!

Definitely had an enjoyable experience at Miss Clawdy. I've never considered myself much of a fan of Poutine, but wow did the chefs do a good job on this one. The waitress was so attentive to us and was always aware of our emptying water glasses - a small thing that I always appreciate. Thank you for a lovely evening!

I chose Miss Clawdy for a surprise dinner for my girlfriend’s upcoming birthday and was not disappointed! We ordered the mac and cheese kids meal for our son, the poutine, braised beef ribs (my personal favorite of the night), and cornbread. Everything was excellent, the meat was tender and all dishes were flavorful. For dessert we tried both the fried doughnuts and the peanut butter mousse. The latter was a bit more savoury than expected - but still delicious. We will be back!

Absolutely outstanding. I love the note on the door when you first get there :D designed to share plates. We had fried chicken, pulled pork poutine, roast Kumura and choc pie for dessert. Food is exquisite. Full of flavour! The team are attentive but not full on. Highly recommend

Food was very good (would highly recommend getting the fried chicken), service was also very good.

- dined at Miss Clawdy on

The restaurant had a really good atmosphere, not too bright or too dark, nice decor, and super cosy seating.

We tried the poutine, mushroom tacos, blackened prawns and also the southern fried chicken after a reccomendation from the waiter. All were good but the blackened prawns are a must-try - very well seasoned and absolutely delicious.

Service was great. Very fast and the staff were friendly. Honestly, the only negative thing I can say is that the table we had was a little small for 3 people. We ordered 4 dishes and had to rearrange the table around to fit everything but it wasn't a big problem in the end.

Overall, a really nice experience and I would recommend it.

- dined at Miss Clawdy on

We shared the poutine, beef ribs and cornbread between two and everything was delicious as well as super filling.

The decor and service were fantastic and we loved the popcorn on the table to nibble on with our cocktails while we waited (Mint Julips!

Delicious meal - shared the blackened prawns and cheesy crab dip to start followed by the Jambalaya, Baja Tacos, Southern Fried Chicken and the Bourbon Beef Ribs - all delicious, it doesn’t say on the menu the ribs are beef short rib - kids initially disappointed as thought getting “ribs” but they devoured it and was their favourite dish! Chicken moist and tasty too! Got dessert - a little average, cheesecake and donuts but otherwise speedy service and attentive staff!

We booked First Table and thought because we were paying half price on food, the service and/or food might not be as good as you would otherwise expect. However, we were totally wrong. The food was yummy and arrived in plenty of time for us to head out to our show, even though we dithered trying to decide what to order from the varied and lovely looking menu. Our waiter helped with suggestions and was "bang on the button". An altogether great experience that we will repeat and highly recommend to anyone else.

Miss Clawdy's is a really delightful eatery in Wynyard Quarter. We were welcomed by a friendly staff member who also waited on our table and was awesome. As a family of 4 it can be difficult picking the right spot but here it catered to us all. The food was tasty and we were still talking about it the next day.

Absolutely loved Miss Clawdy!!
The food is beautiful. The short rib and jerk chicken will absolutely blow your mind!! But the cool thing is they have items to cater for the whole family!!

What sets this place apart though is the staff. They are next level! So helpful, friendly and inviting!!

We will be back soon!

We have often walked past on our way to the theatre but have never made the time to eat at Miss Clawdy. What a treat we have been missing out on!
We started with their Famous Deep Fried Chicken - a good sharing portion for 2 and very tasty,, then split the Baja Tacos & Bourbon Beef Ribs. The fish tacos were fresh and zesty & the beef ribs were fall off the bone goodness. We couldn't agree on a dessert to split, so ordered the Peanut Butter Mousse & the Fried Cinnamon Doughnuts. An deliciously sweet way to end the meal
The staff were very polite and friendly, the food was most flavourful & excellent and we had a lovely time. We highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for some Southern American charm, especially their Fried Chicken!.

Service might have been higher as waiter and table service was 4. Let down by cashier, front of house waitress. The place looked closed which is why people walked away. It would seem there is a problem with the front door and front of house did nothing to help people feel welcomed through it.

Place is really romantic and homey. Not crowded and just the perfect place to spend your late afternoon chill.

But i was expecting for “more” on the food. Tried their cornbread, chicken, tacos and salted caramel mousse. There was just nothing special unfortunately on my own opinion. The taste didn’t gave me the “yum” factor. Esp. The tacos (made me a little disappointed) it was just bland and dry. I’ve booked this restaurant through first table so price wise was just okay for what we’ve tried but if i’ll be spending the original price I would probably try somewhere else.

It’s a great place especially for weekend nights with drinks and chips but for main and heavy dinner ?, not really...but I would still give this 3.5/5.

Great staff, little slow to ask about more drinks and I feel that we had too many people approach our table- one waitstaff is ideal.
Other than that they were really nice.

Stop offering that stale and cold popcorn- it's a terrible starter, just give corn chips and dip it's easy cheap and always a good start.

Best dish is easily the fried chicken and ribs- melted off the bone

We loved the atmosphere at Miss Clawdy's. Great music and awesome decor. The service was fast and friendly and the food was great. Great menu which made it hard to choose! The only downside was that we waited a while to have our plates cleared and was never offered the opportunity to order dessert. At this point our time had elapsed for First Table so even if we wanted dessert we wouldn't have been allowed to order. This was understandable however as it was busy in the restaurant and staff were visibly rushed off their feet. Overall we were very happy with our meal at Miss Clawdy's and would definitely recommend!

Miss Clawdy's décor is warm and fitting for the Southern theme. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the small bowl of popcorn that appeared while I was in the bathroom was a welcoming touch. We really enjoyed the creamy shrimp and grits that had fresh cherry tomatoes stirred through, and was a very good dip for our fries. The menu has some good Kiwi and Australian beers like Panhead (on tap) and Little Creatures. I was only a bit disappointed in the fried chicken, which is a specialty of Miss Clawdy's, because it apparently has 20 spices in the mix but it tasted a bit bland and I could only detect cinnamon. In saying that though, it was well cooked and all the food came very quickly.

We have eaten here several times in the past and loved the food, so when I saw the offer on First Table, I was excited to return. However, we were disappointed this time around. The mac 'n' cheese and collard greens lacked flavour, and I felt unwell after eating the fish tacos. However, the green goddess salad was nice. For dessert, we shared the peanut butter mousse and the old fashioned doughnuts. The peanut butter mousse tasted like straight peanut butter, it even had a thick peanut butter texture, not the right texture for mousse. The doughnuts were not good either, burnt on the outside and dry on the inside.

We did not complain at the time, but when I saw the option to add a review, I thought about it more and how disappointed we were with the food overall. With that said, we liked the cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Given there are lots of amazing restaurants in Auckland, I don't think I would return - except perhaps for drinks.
