Lai Thai Bistro brings a bright, balanced take on Thai cooking to West Auckland.

Their menu traces the sweet, sour, salty and spicy compass of true Thai cuisine. Open with snackable faves: flaky curry puff layered with marinated chicken and potatoes, and crisp spring rolls, both destined for a dunk in sweet chilli sauce.

From there, the warm salads dial up the freshness. Larb gai mingles minced chicken with a lively dressing and fresh herbs, while nam tok beef contrasts tender slices with ground rice and fragrant Thai aromatics for texture and lift. It's a vivid, herb-forward prelude to the heat of the wok.

Next, stir-fries keep things punchy, from crispy pork to a mixed seafood medley, while noodle and rice staples deliver pure comfort. Pad Thai arrives with the crunch of bean sprouts, a scatter of peanuts and a hit of fresh lemon, and Thai fried rice turns jasmine grains, eggs, onions and vegetables into a satisfyingly savoury bowl.

For those craving a ladle-and-spoon moment, green curry adds peas and beans to a silky sauce, while red curry brings a spicy kick with bamboo shoots and coconut milk.

Gather your favourites, bring a hearty appetite, and let the wok and curry pots do the talking.
