lunch

At SuMei, bold flavours meet creative twists, channelling East Asian influences into plates made for conversation and lively company. It’s a friendly, come-as-you-are spot where food is crafted with passion and served with a smile.

The kitchen plays with contrast and balance: delicate dumplings fold in unexpected pairings like duck with cherry and spinach, or lobster and prawn lifted with kaffir lime. Pillowy bao buns deliver big personality, from Korean heat with bulgogi and kimchi to a playful nod to street-side classics in the banh mi bao. Every bite is calibrated for freshness, texture and crunch - the sort of food that invites sharing and more to enjoy.

For heartier moments, steaming bowls take centre stage. The SuMei tonkotsu ramen layers silky broth with chashu-style barbecue pork and all the trimmings, while the Tokyo miso ramen leans savoury and soothing. Lighter touches keep pace: think tuna and salmon tartare snapping against a prawn cracker, or the comfort of Japanese agedashi tofu in dashi.

Welcoming and social, SuMei is the kind of place that suits a quick bite at the bar or a lingering lunch with friends. Book in, bring your appetite, and let the fusion do the talking - chopsticks at the ready!
