dinner

In South Auckland, Uncle Man's Manukau celebrates the bold, comforting flavours of Malaysia. Think coconut-rich rice, aromatic curries, springy noodles and the gentle tug-of-war between chilli heat and sweetness - it's a menu built for appetite and ease.

Flaky roti canai arrives ready to tear and dip into dhal, chicken curry or beef rendang, alongside crisp, stuffed murtabak. Mains deliver pure comfort, ranging from fragrant nasi lemak topped with spicy sambal and peanuts to slow-cooked lamb briyani scented with whole spices.

Wok-kissed mee goreng brings smoky depth, while seafood curry laksa steams in a deeply spiced broth. Salt-and-pepper squid with house-made aioli and skewers of lamb satay make effortless sharing plates, leaving just enough room for sweet dadar gulung or roti bom.

Whether it's a swift solo dinner or a convivial feast with friends, these hearty Malaysian favourites don't hold back on warmth and personality. Make a beeline for Uncle Man's Manukau and follow your nose - a table, a fresh stack of roti and a spoonful of sambal await!
