In the heart of Onehunga, Biryaniwala Lounge Restaurant & Bar pays homage to the royal desi delicacy biryani.

Inside, a blend of classic and contemporary touches creates a warm, vibrant setting perfect for both weeknight drop-ins and dinners with friends.

At the centre of the menu is, of course, the biryani - rich, aromatic and available in chicken, lamb or goat.

Beyond the pot, south Indian favourites make their mark, from crisp dosas folded around spiced potato to those brushed with golden butter. A lively Indo-Chinese influence also shines through in dishes such as dragon chicken crackling with dry red chillies and cashews, chicken majestically infused with curry leaves, and cult classics like lamb rogan josh.

From the tandoor come smoky skewers of chicken tikka, while the seafood selection impresses with crisp bites like pepper prawn pakoda. For something heartier, sambar rice with chicken 65 or a classic vegetable samosa rounds off the feast.

With its warm hospitality and dedication to authentic flavours, Biryaniwala Lounge invites guests to sit back, savour and let the biryani take centre stage.
