A Cali-Mexican experience pulsing with energy from afternoon through to late night, Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina brings the rhythm of LA’s sun-soaked coast and vibrant street scene to life. Perched on Takapuna’s waterfront, its bold exterior bursts with colour, personality and an irresistible sense of fun—an open invitation to step into something unexpected.

Inspired by the journey of traveller Rosie, who touched down in California and never looked back, this lively cantina captures more than just the essence of a taqueria; it becomes a full-blown celebration. With tempting starters, tacos that feel made for movement, generous mains and indulgent desserts, the energy carries on long after the first bite.

Taking classics and adding a Rosie’s twist, their tacos are unlike anything else. Standout fillings include birria beef brisket—a rich, smoky melody of flavour—and spicy pulled adobo chicken with Colby Jack cheese. There’s also the Baja-battered fish with chipotle herb crema, and for a veggie option, there’s harissa-roasted cauliflower with romesco and coconut-pickled cauliflower.

Or why not go all-American with their iconic street food burger? Load it up with all the toppings, or keep it classic with just a slice of cheese. Grab some monster nachos piled high with your favourite toppings, pretend you’re in New York with their comforting mac ’n’ cheese, or indulge your sweet tooth with a decadent chocolate lava cake.

Renowned for their frozen margaritas (in multiple flavours, of course) and local draughts on tap, there’s every reason to order something to drink too. So wind down, relax and enjoy a true slice of California’s vibrant coast at Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina.
