Named after one of the prettiest corners in northwest Italy, this restaurant is reminiscent of all the glamour and sophistication that is associated with the coastal town of Portofino.

And just like its namesake, Portofino Takapuna enjoys an idyllic spot right by the ocean. It's the kind of destination that evolves as the hours go by; during the day, Portofino is an elegant bistro and by night it dons its party hat for an evening that boasts an undercurrent of excitement. Illuminated by blue light strips that are complimented by intimate table lamps, Portofino has a different personality when it comes to dinner time, and we're all here for it. Perfect for date night or for anyone who enjoys fine food in a stunning setting, Portofino has it all.

And as their name suggests, everything is designed to whisk you away from Takapuna and land you straight next to the Mediterranean Sea. That includes the food, which is as authentic as they come. Begin with a selection of warm and cold appetisers, mixing the likes of Bluff oysters and shrimp cocktail with crispy eggplant bruschetta, oozing arancini balls, steamed mussels, and prawn cutlets in a parsley and cream sauce.

Now you'll be in the perfect mood for the main event, be that a plate of spaghetti adorned with clams, risotto interspersed with marinated chicken, parsley, and plenty of garlic or Potofino's own casarecce pasta with spinach, sundried tomatoes and feta. And don't be afraid to choose your own pasta shape - with 10 to choose from, you can enjoy this Italian staple exactly as you please. Armed with handmade pizzas and delicious meat dishes too, welcome to all the tastes, traditions, and sensory delights of Portofino on the other side of the globe.
