Hong's brings a comforting slice of North Shore dining to Auckland, guided by the bold, soul-warming flavours of Korean and neighbouring Asian kitchens.

At its heart are bowls built for slurping: jjajangmyeon with its inky black bean richness, and jjamppong, a spicy seafood noodle soup that arrives fragrant and full of promise. Beyond the broth, fried rice comes smoky and studded with chicken, vegetables, prawns, or lifted by the tang of kimchi.

For those after a heartier plate, the sweet and sour pork leans bright and playful, alongside prawns in sweet chilli sauce. The crunch of tonkatsu contrasts neatly with the juicy depth of tteokgalbi, grilled beef short rib patties that feel both homely and celebratory.

The mood stays relaxed and convivial, the kind of place where chopsticks click, steam curls, and conversation hums. Book a table, follow the aroma, and let the noodles do the talking.
