We had the most delightful experience at The Attic in Mission Bay. We were held up in traffic and rang to say we would be a little late. The staff were totally accommodating and made us feel most welcome. The food was excellent. My salad was fresh, with a variety of chopped vegetables, not just a few leaves thrown together from a bag, like I have had at other places. The fried fish was succulent and done in bubbling beer batter. We had a view over Mission Bay beach from our window seat. A very pleasant atmosphere. Excellent service and food.

Great food and great service! We asked for rare steak and that’s what we got! Thoroughly enjoyed it, even our resident vegetarian was happy, very tasty gnocchi!

Wonderful menu, generous servings, attractive presentation, cosy fire and welcoming staff! The Attic maintains a consistently high standard as this is our third visit and we were not disappointed.
On a quiet Monday night we enjoyed a superb prawn entree followed by 2 perfectly cooked mains - chicken breast and fish.
Thoroughly recommended

For a first time user of First Table, it was awesome. Such a great affordable way to try out new places. It was also my first time at The Attic Bar and Restaurant. The food presentation was amazing and tasted just as good. Would definitely go back there!

We had a great family meal on Sunday 20th. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My husband and I had the calamari as an entrée then Vietnamese Beef Salad and Bacon Wrapped Chicken breast with seasonal veges for our mains. The food was delicious! Our kids had the fish n chips and pulled pork sliders (my daughter said they were the best little burgers she had ever had!). The live music was nice too, not too loud so we couldn't talk but enough to create a nice ambience.

The Attic proved to be the epitome of ambiance. Nestled by a warm glowing fire and the sweet melodies of live music, we experienced excellent food with flavour and flare. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing the upbeat service New Zealanders are famous for. The desserts were the crown of the evening with warm gooey brownie and spiced apple pie being the crowd favourites. Will definitely be coming back!

We dined at the Attic on Sunday evening, always have such a good experience there! I took a few friends with who had not eaten at the attic and all of us were very impressed! The beef salad is honestly one of the best salads I have had in a while! great friendly staff and food is always great!

All guests enjoyed dining experience. Tasty, well presented food with good range of menu items. Comfortable seating. Pleasant ambiance with view towards park and bay and choice of indoor or outer deck tables. Option of watching sport on large TV screens which was not intrusive.

We got a firsttable voucher for a relaxed and quiet saturday evening in mission bay. I was surprised of the quality of food they served. The stuffed chicken with tagliatelle pasta and vegetables was absolutely delicious! I would definitely come back for this dish in the future (and pay full price). The sauce made me swoon. Vegetable cooked to perfection. We eat out every weekend and I rarely finish my meal (small eater, gets full easily). This one however, I thoroughly enjoyed and although I still was not able to finish the chicken, I devoured the pasta. In total I managed like 7/8 of my meal. Yey! Also the dumplings were scrumptious. Partner had the pork ribs and garlic bread which were also good.

Atmosphere-wise, it was a typical gastro pub place. There’s a bar, table outside where you can smoke, and tables inside good for groups or small parties. Well rounded and classic kiwi. It’s on top of another restaurant so you get a good view of the bay. Would be nice on sunny days. Service was good. Can’t fault it really. I’d imagine that if it wasn’t for the health scare going on, this place would be packed.

You can always find good food to comfort but an excellent service seals the deal. I must say "The Attic" dining experience was a winner. We expected to be treated less than usual because of the discounted deal but it went the complete opposite.
The lamb shank was falling off the bone and the steak was cooked to perfection.. The seafood platter a please to the eyes with the variety but a bit dry but the coconut sauce on the mussels was so delish. I might try the meat platter next time!

Went out with my 3 gal pal’s and couldn’t have picked a better restaurant for us to enjoy a pre Xmas dinner. Food was simply superb, with a special mention to the pork belly starter.
Our two servers were so friendly and provided us with exceptional service.
Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fantastic food, service and atmosphere.

Firstly, the service was outstanding starting with my “panic” call to them as we were stuck in traffic and would be at least 15mins late. We were told not to worry and that they would hold our reservation. As for the rest of the evening our waitress was lovely, friendly and very accommodating. Our one guest is a severe celiac and has other serious allergies on topic of that! Our waitress asked all the correct questions and patiently wrote down his order and went to check with the chef that everything would be as he ordered. His butter fried Hoki without any seasoning whatsoever, salad without a drop of anything and chips was delicious with his addition of tobasco sauce and vinegar!! However, my deep fried battered Hoki was not good. The batter unfortunately was extremely thick and even difficult to cut through. I did eat everything as I really hate waste. My son had the pork ribs which were dry but my husband had the lamb shank and can’t wait to go back there for more! Our final guest had a steak which was cooked as ordered with a pepper sauce which he enjoyed. We did not complain about the batter or ribs as the evening was lovely, the service excellent and our waitress brilliant. We will definitely go back, but I think I will try the burger which sounded great but the fish won the toss!!!

We received a warm welcome on arrival and then sat on the terrace having our Happy Hour drinks whilst choosing from the menu. We both chose sirloin steaks with a side of fries and salad.

We really enjoyed our main course. The steaks were nicely presented with an accompaniment of asparagus and broccoli and our mushroom sauce was served separately as requested. They tasted really good and were cooked to our liking medium rare.

We had an affagato and special coffee to finish. There was quite a wait for our desert order to be taken but when the affagato arrived it was presented on a serving board with the liqueur and espresso served separately which we liked. The special coffee came straight - in a glass filled very full as it should be but no saucer, spoon or napkin.

We would recommend the Attic for the food but the service could be better.

The food was lovely, the restaurant has a great atmosphere I think it may have been busier than usual early for a Monday and the one poor waitress was having to serve a lot of tables at once so drinks re- orders were a little slow, but other than that would definitely recommend.
