Arrived for a quiet first table but the restaurant was packed within 15 minutes of our arrival. Great to see a fantastic little restaurant doing so well.
We had a lovely, tasty meal. It was our second visit and we’ll definitely go again

I took my family here for an indulgent Asian fusion experience - and all four of us were just in awe at the food. To start off we had a pork bao each (they were extremely filling, tender and crunchy, saucy and tasty - they are just to die for) and the shumai dumplings (a good balance of pork with the seafood flavour - my father was in love). We also ordered the deep fried soft shell crab (crunchy and tangy, a nice texture to have on the table) and the sweet honey lamb (which was coated in a lovely sauce and came with wraps). Finally, we also ordered some of the noodles and a bowl of chicken fried rice. The noodles were extremely flavoursome with a very decent amount of meat, and the rice was light and fragrant. The food just fabulous and all four of us ate to the brim. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience, we have been talking all week about how amazing our dinner was and promise to return. Service was also 10/10 and food came out fast. Love this restaurant!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at Mix. The food was delicious. We each had a bao - one chicken and one roast pork, both were amazing!! We then shared dumplings, tempura eggplant and sweet honey lamb wraps. Neither of us could fault any of the dishes. The atmosphere was nice and the service was first class. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great little spot in Kingsland. Fantastic wait staff, very attentive and friendly. Of the food we ordered, we particularly liked the Pork Bao, the Soft shell crab Bao, and the Asian greens with Oyster sauce. As the name suggests, the menu is a real mixture of Asian cuisines - Chinese, Thai, Japanese which for me got a little tricky when trying to match flavours, but overall we liked it.

Amazing place, the food is always great, flavorsome and just a bit different. All the dishes we ordered were at a high level. The atmosphere for an Asian place in Kingsland is a lot better than else where as well! We will be back for sure! BYO wine as well :)

This was my third visit to mix (but the first using first table) so I have sampled much of the menu. Food is 4/5 with favourites including the delicately flavoured pork gyoza, generously sized tempura eggplant with miso sauce (although a sprinkle of salt flakes is needed) bang fried chicken dish ( hearty- best to share - a bit like kaarage chicken with siracha and mayo sauce) and the green tea ice cream ( delicious intense green colour but not overpowering flavour - kohu rd?) The cumin lamb is also moreish - cuminy with a slight but not unpleasant cheewiness. The pork bao is good flavourwise but not quite as tender as I have had elsewhere. However a bonus point for BYO making this place exceptional value. Service is friendly and attentive. We will be back to try more from the menu and a few of our favourites.

Mix is a really cool little restaurant in Kingsland with a menu that has pretty good vibes. Our server was really lovely and accommodating, but the food isn’t really anything much.

We ordered the soft shell crab, the prawn cakes, the green beans with pork mince and the curry fried rice.

The soft shell crab, which was deep fried, was really crunchy and had a lemony dressing. The texture of the crab was pretty good but overall the flavour was really lacking. The dressing was thin, sparse and a bit one note. It was nice because it was fried but I sort of expected something more.

The green beans were decent. Good flavour, good texture. Could have used more pork mince but only cause I liked it so much.

The prawn cakes again were nice because they were fried. They came with a dipping sauce which was okay, but sort of tasted like your standard supermarket sweet chilli (even though it looked like it was made in house). I just think prawn cakes could be more than what these were.

Lastly the curry fried rice was below average - underseasoned with a really half hearted curry flavour which made me kind of wonder like what’s the point of this? Why wouldn’t you just serve regular fried rice?

Prawn Dumpling is highly recommended, higher quality than traditional Cantonese restaurant, Tom Yum soup Dumplings was innovative dish, but the soup is way too salty. Soft crab and roast duck were average to me , Green tea ice cream was the highlight. Service was attentive, great dining time! Would be back!

A small neighborhood eatery, in Kingsland, Mix deserves it's high ranking in the restaurant reviews. Excellent small plates, the Ha Gao dumplings, and the tasty Mix salad are our absolute favorites. The Bao buns are delicious and all the small dishes very well priced. The bigger plates are not all quite so successful. However, a real feast can be created from the Dumplings, Bao and Small plates sections of the menu. The sago with mango dessert is a most refreshing and delightful finale for a splendid meal. Our favorite restaurant, offering deliciousness, real value and the additional benefit of a BYO option (so sadly lacking at many other establishments). Highly recommended.

A warm and polite greeting on arrival, lovely modern decor and top notch service from our waitress. The food was very generous in portion size and fantastic flavours and presentation (definitely worthy of Instagram!!!). We had our baby girl with us who the staff were really friendly to, accommodated our needs for a high chair without issue and the service overall was just excellent. We will be back, thank you for such a pleasant dining experience!

I’m a sucker for Asian fusion restaurants. ‘Mix’ has such amazing recipes, so of course I had to give it a try.

I loved the wooden interior with fairy lights, very warm and cosy. Slight complaint: we found the couch chairs quite high for the tables, and had to really lean down to eat, which is quite uncomfortable.

The drinks were great. I loved the presentation of my cocktail ‘causeway bay’. It was pretty, sweet, and refreshing. Although it could have done with more rum :p The boys enjoyed the house peach soda.

In terms of the dishes:
Mix salad - the tangy Thai dressing was nice, but nothing too special.
Xiao long bao - the soup filling was deliciousness. Very vinegary and gingery. The best xiao long bao I’ve had in awhile.
Coconut prawns - nice, golden, and crunchy. However, it was a bit dry, could have done with a sauce.
Roast duck - most worth the money as the dish was big and could feed a lot of people. The sauce was nice and sweet, however, it was mostly down the bottom of the plate and not on the meat.
Sweet honey lamb: the favourite of the day. The honey and pepper flavoured sauce was divine.
Pork ribs - the sauce was nice, tasted a bit like hoisin (instead of red beans), but a bit too salty. The pork was also not soft and tender.

All in all, there were definitely some very good dishes, while the other dishes were a bit underwhelming. Another thing was that the ‘big plates’ were all quite small, more like entree size. You needed to order quite a few of them to feel full.

I had been eyeing out Mix as a potential restaurant to try out, so when I saw them on First Table I knew it was something I should snap up ASAP – and I’m so happy I did! My partner and I were welcomed by very friendly staff into a warm and cosy restaurant, and were given advice on how to order and what to choose, which was very helpful since our eyes seemed to be bigger than our stomachs. My partner is very inexperienced when it comes to different cuisines (he’s a burger, fish & chips, steak and pizza man) but he fell in love with the fusion flavours at Mix. Our tom yum dumplings were very flavoursome and the pork bao was mind-blowing – so crispy, yet tender and complemented perfectly with the hoisin sauce. I think my partner was in shock at how tasty and filling a bao could be. And then came the roast duck and fried egg noodles with laksa sauce. One word: wow! We ended up using the gorgeous sauce from the duck dish and adding it into the noodles, and the flavours were just insane. After a very fragrant and yummy meal we had 7 plates all clean. I would say Mix is doing very, very well. 10/10 would go back again.

Mix consistently delivers on full-flavours, amazing service, and a relaxing, contemporary atmosphere. I have dined here twice now and been thoroughly impressed with my experiences. I personally would not call it fusion, it is more accurately authentic asian (mainly Chinese Cantonese) served in a contemporary restaurant. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu; hagao and shumai are some of the best, if not THE best. A definite 10/10.

We arrive at the restaurant on time and were served by two friendly staffs immediately. The food was absolutely delicious and the serving size is enough for 4 of us. It was my cousin's birthday and the staff lit the candle and provided dessert plate for us. Excellent customer service. The restaurant is in a good location with loads of parking nearby, I will definitely come back for another dinner. Overall, I would highly recommend everyone to come to this restaurant and have a taste of different kinds of Asian food.

This is such a great little place to have a catch up. Lovely greeting when we arrived to make us feel welcome. I love the flexibility around the menu and the lovely flavours we tasted. Loved the sliders and the dumplings. Great ambience created with an eclectic mix of other eaters around us to make us feel part of neat night. Would definitely go again!

We went to Mix on what could be described as a miserable Sunday weatherwise. But that's okay because the food, atmosphere, and drinks were amazing at Mix. We took our two children, and they absolutely loved the food also. We will definitely be back, we could not fault it. The dumplings, spring rolls, roast duck, pork and green beans and lastly the bang bang chicken were so fabulous, we nearly rolled out of the place!! Highly recommend!!
