O'Dowd's Irish Bar and Eatery brings a vibrant slice of Irish charm to Ellerslie, where good food and good times come naturally.

Casual and welcoming, it's the kind of local where strangers become regulars and the conversation flows as smoothly as the pour. With arguably the best pint of Guinness in New Zealand, the bar is already winning hearts one creamy head at a time. Lively music events and big-screen sport set an easygoing tempo, making it an inviting spot for after-work pints, weekday catch-ups and everything in between.

In the kitchen, hearty Irish-inspired comfort is the order of the day. Think beer-battered fish and chips with tartare, bavette steak cooked just so with chips, and the simple satisfaction of Trevor's soda bread alongside sausage rolls.

The drinks list strikes a pleasing balance between classic and contemporary – alongside the hallmark Guinness, there's a Grey Goose Espresso Martini and an 1800 Margarita for a polished sip, while celebratory bubbles come from Lindauer prosecco and G.H. Mumm.

Swing by, pull up a stool, and settle in for the craic – your new local awaits!
