Tucked away in East Auckland's ever-expanding list of eateries, Minos is an Italian and Mediterranean local hotspot. Known for their bold flavours and hearty portions, the locals can't get enough of the authentic dishes dished out daily. Perhaps it's the smells drifting through the door, with the aroma of fresh pizza dough wafting through the air. The menu promises all the classics of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, with a few innovative twists thrown in for good measure.

Start as you mean to go on with a share plate brimming with taste bud tantalising aromas. Case in point, the Minos speciality that is the pizza bread smothered in garlic, olive oil, Italian herbs, and an eight-cheese blend. Another classic starter here is their prawn cocktail. Fresh prawns are covered in tangy lemon juice and Thousand Island dressing and arranged on a bed of lettuce. So far so scrumptious.

Mains are where Minos shines. Many regulars come back again and again to get their hit of Mediterranean flavours. Choose from classics such as spaghetti bolognese and beef lasagne, or if sharing is caring when it comes to your eats, don’t miss their famous pizzas topped with all your favourite meats. Think bacon, salami and the king of cured piggy deli goodness - ham. For those who frown at the thought of sharing... why? But never fear! Stick with a classic Margherita. Minos also have you covered with kids' meals with their "make your own pizza" option for kids, available every night. Children simply love choosing their ingredients and creating their pizzas right at the table.

Finish your meal on a truly sweet note, with a traditional Tiramisu, this is not included in the deal. Get adventurous and book a table at this East Auckland culinary treasure.
