Situated in Parnell, Auckland, Rumi offers diners an opportunity to delve into the rich flavours of Persian cuisine. This sophisticated restaurant is brimming with aromatic spices and tender meats, providing an authentic experience that’s as much a delight for the senses as it is for the tastebuds.

Step through the doors of Rumi and be transported to a place where ancient flavours meet contemporary style. The décor pays tribute to Persian craftsmanship, with intricate patterns and warm colours creating an atmosphere of exotic elegance. It’s perfect for a romantic meal, a family gathering, or catching up with friends.

Begin your meal with their standout mains, a showcase of Persian kebabs that are as pleasing to the eye as they are delicious. The koobideh kabab, with ground lamb and onions seasoned with spices and saffron, is a must, while the joojeh kabab offers tender chicken marinated in a magical mix of Persian spices. For seafood enthusiasts, the salmon kabab brings fresh New Zealand king salmon to life with saffron and lime.

A Persian meal isn’t complete without a range of favourites, ensuring every mouthful is a perfect mix of flavours and textures. For those who find it hard to choose, the Rumi Special presents a winning combination of koobideh, joojeh, and chenjeh skewers, giving a taste of everything that makes Rumi's menu special.

To accompany your meal, consider their selection of wines and beers, each chosen to complement the aromatic spices in every dish. Whether you opt for a light white to balance the dishes’ richness or a bold red to accompany the meats’ depth, your selection will enhance your meal.

As the evening draws to a close, you’ll want to savour the final bites, reluctant to leave the captivating world Rumi has created from the essence of Persian culture. This isn’t just dinner; it’s an experience – one you’ll want to repeat.
