lunch

What began as a small pizza shop in Melbourne is now a booming franchise across Australia and New Zealand. Dedicated to creating treasured memories around the table, La Porchetta is Parnell’s favourite local Italian.

Taking all the trappings of a traditional bistro and transforming it into something modern and chic, this eatery has a dining style for everyone. Diner-style booths afford privacy for you and the gang, while bistro tables throw you into the heart of the action. Thanks to the exposed kitchen, it’s always a hive of activity.

The extensive menu is packed with freshly made pizzas, meaty mains, straight-outta-the-pasta-maker pasta dishes and vegan specialities. First, let’s tackle the pizza menu that gives all others a run for their money. Enjoy slice after slice of the marinara, Mexicana, smoked salmon or even jump over the pond for an Aussie which features mozzarella, ham and egg.

Next, you have the likes of chicken schnitzel and parmigiana lining the mains, as well as some of the sauciest (in both senses of the word) pasta dishes we’ve seen in a long time. The penne beef ragu sounds like the perfect end-of-the-day treat – as does the tiramisu come to think of it…
