Bridging the gap between you and New Zealand's best wines, Somm has made it their mission to put NZ's finest bottles within reach on Auckland's glistening waterfront.

And it's oh-so sleek. Tapping into urban landscapes with differing shades of grey, charcoal and brown, Somm has created a minimalist paradise that also has a distinct cooling effect. Sombre in some areas further away from the water, and joyous and carefree on their waterside deck, choose a table that suits your mood and lose yourself to NZ's best creations.

And with almost seven pages of wines to choose from, you're bound to find your bottled soul mate. These are wines that have been produced from the sunny Hawke's Bay to the equally sunny Marlborough, blissful Bay of Islands and mountainous Otago, Canterbury. You'll find that almost every region has a story to tell. If, however, you're overwhelmed by the choice, simply ask any of the staff for their recommendations.

All this wine tasting can be hungry work, so be sure to eat some local delicacies too. The sharing plates lean into seasonal ingredients with market fish crudo, Southland sirloin, confit duck and housemade focaccia. You can also polish off a pizza, all of which are delightfully simple with paired back toppings so as not to overpower the main event (the wine of course). At Somm, the power of crushed grapes is never to be underestimated.
