Cuisine: Breakfast, Brunch, Cafe

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and soak up the relaxing ambience in Mulberry Garden Café’s courtyard. Once inside this inner-city café, you’ll feel a million miles away from the busyness of the CBD.

Grab a coffee and choose something from the cabinet or sit down and take your pick from the extensive breakfast menu. Think pancakes with streaky bacon and maple syrup, or the infamous Mulberry Big Breakfast. For lunch, try thai beef salad, open steak sammy with fries, pork cutlets with beans and mashed potatoes drizzled with apple sauce or seared salmon on corn fritters with wilted spinach and chipotle sauce. There’s plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options available too.

Cute, cosy and quiet, Mulberry Garden Café is ideal for a business lunch or a pre-work catch-up with a friend.

Food was devine!!
Service was excellent, they were short staffed at the time due to staff illness. The manager kept us well informed about waiting times and was very apologetic . He went over and beyond.!!
A very nice atmosphere and we found a gourmet hot chocolate in Wellington. So yes very happy and will return and bring the whanau.

This is a cheap little cafe. Not amazing food and the cabinet food looks terrible. For the same price I’m sure you can find better eateries, I wouldn’t return or recommend.

My experience was very poor, I did raise my concerns at the time but the manager simply did not care. We had breakfast. Initially I was given the wrong order, mine arriving some 10 minutes after the rest of the table. I ordered a mango smoothie which was powered and we were offered no drinking water. I would not recommend to anyone - poor food and poor service.

Friendly welcome with good service. A pleasant, relaxed cafe with a standard menu but food totally exceeded our expectations - THE BEST salmon bagel, still thinking about it! Would definitely recommend this place

We arrived for breakfast at 7am and we were the only customers in there. Our orders were taken around 10 minutes later and not written down by the staff member, who then returned around 5 minutes later with a pen and paper to again take our orders for the second time.

Our coffee's came out a few minutes after the orders were written down and were very good.

We waited around 50 minutes for our breakfasts to arrive. Two came out to start with followed a few minutes later by the third. The last meal came with out the bacon side order which we were told will take another 5 minutes to cook (wait, what? how does that work?).

The food was ok. The black pudding with the big breakfast was dry and not very good and having to wait that long to eat when no other customers were in there eating is not really on. If we hadn't ordered a side of sauce with the meals if would have been quite hard work to eat as everything was quite dry apart from the eggs/mushrooms and tomatos.

The creamy mushrooms and bacon on toast was very good.

Eggs benny was okay apart from having to wait an extra 5 minutes for the side of bacon to turn up.

In all if this is the standard we won't be returning for breakfast here again.

Hopefully the other meals are better prepared and dont take forever to get cooked.

This was our second time here and this was a huge drop in quality from the first time.

Awful and not the worth the money even if it is half price!!!

We waited 45mins for 2 cups of coffee which were terrible. Then a total of an hour for food. This was breakfast and the place was not busy when we arrived there was only 1 other table!

The waiter seems like it was a hassle for us to have the voucher.

I do NOT recommend this place at all!!!

Decent food but shambolic service and organisation. Offered constructive feed back after our meal but this was totally dismissed and ignored

We had a fantastic meal there. Although we were with first table the place did seem very busy so there was a bit of a wait for food. It was worth it! Would highly recommend.

Restaurant looking a bit tired could do with a revamp so wasn't expecting much.
The food though was absolutely lovely with the exception of the pork belly being overdone.
My salmon was delicious and the chips perfect.
Coffee not hot enough, however with a few tweaks here and there I'd come back

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rather than 5 is because we weren't provided with water the whole time, and the waffles were overdone/very dense. But other than that we had a great time and would recommend it to friends

Three of us had breakfast at the Mulberry Garden Cafe on Saturday morning, the meals were beautifully presented and tasted great, the coffee was good and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the great service too! We have been to this cafe several times and we’ll definitely be back!

We turned up a few minutes early and were offered the table in the front window. The waitress hadn't finished clearing it, there were used glasses and it smelt strongly of fish.
We ordered an orange juice and was told they might not have enough, do we want it mixed with another? We chose Apple. It's freshly made on site and was ok. We also ordered a bottle of water. After waiting an age, we went up to the counter and got 2 glasses of water, there were 4 of us. They weren't busy.
The meals we ordered were a gourmet burger (it was anything but gourmet with very basic ingredients), a breakfast special of poached eggs, bacon and hashbrowns, another of poached eggs on toast with a side of avocado (the poached eggs were well cooked), and on the waitresses recommendation, the falafel stuffed portobello mushrooms with tzatziki. The dish was dry and unappealing, the tzatziki had separated. The bottle of water we ordered was plonked on the table after our mains with no additional glasses supplied.
Overall, it was a very poor experience that left us with the feeling they didn't have pride in the service/product being offered or the physical premises itself which could do with a good tidy and clean.
