Highly recommend - the platter for 2 was huge, we couldn't finish it! Really wanted dessert but had no room! Lamb gnocchi was great, would definitely take friends here as an escape when town is too busy

This restaurant really surprised us how with good it was! I had (incorrectly) associated it with the bowling alley in the same building but read the good reviews and thought we would give it a go. Great move - the space is large and well presented. The food was very tasty and also well presented - and very affordable - a decent steak was only $25 before the FT deal. Drinks were well priced, so we left absolutely stuffed after three courses and quite a few beers. The young bloke from Chile who served us was very friendly too so all in all a very nice evening. Have told friends about it already so I reckon we will be back soon.

Value for money in Queenstown - this is a must visit. One diner had the Stewart Island Cod which was a huge fillet perfectly cooked and accompanied with an ample salad and fries. The second diner had the Rib-eye steak which was cooked exactly as requested. It was accompanied by potatoes baked with bacon and steamed green vegetables. Dessert was a really delicious berry cheesecake brulee.
A stand out feature was the concern of the staff that the guests were enjoying the dining experience. Our waiters were great and we even had a visit from the chef.
The location of the restaurant was a little distance from town but well worth the trip. Perhaps the hotel could look at repairs to the outside carpark - the large potholes.

Dinner - First of all, the waitress Nadia was super efficient and friendly. It's a pity that the food let down our overall dining experience and I would've objected to paying full price for what we got if we hadn't been using 1st Table. The gnocchi & lamb rogue wasn't pleasant eat because the gnocchi was heavy like dough balls. I had the beer battered blue cod, chips and salad. I was very disappointed. It should have been titled fish bites, chips and greens. Six small bits of fish individually battered and fried so made it very dry and the salad was just greens taken from a bag and plonked on the plate ☹️ The best part to the dish was the crunchy fries. The beef bacon cheese burger and half rack ribs were ok.
Buffet breakfast - again the service was excellent, helpful and friendly. The selection and quality of food was great and only because of this is why I've rated a 2 instead of nil. Yes I would dine again but only for breakfast.

The service was amazing from the get go very friendly and fast, the food was a bit of a let down large portions which were great but my partners blue cod was missing a salad, it was an entire large plate of chips with a couple tiny chunks of blue cod (the batter was gross)
My friends potatoes were still hard with her steak, my meal was pretty good just lacking seasoning but apart from that it was fine the ribs were great and so was the sharing platter (we were missing onion rings from it)
I will come along again but not if the same things keep happening - bit of a hit and miss

The lowest possible rating is 1. This place deserves less than that. First table is a chance to market your business and encourage new customers and quite the opposite happened here. Sadly the staff are poorly trained - delivering wine and not opening the bottle or pouring it (in fact we had to ask for glasses), delivering tough garlic bread that appeared to be microwaved - we had to ask for plates. 2 waitresses standing around chatting while the restaurant was almost empty, yet nobody offered to take our mains order 1.5 hrs after we'd arrived. We already had to get up and ask for the wine and bread, we didn't want to be chasing them around the empty restaurant again so we put money on the table for our drinks and walked out. Nobody bothered to ask why we were leaving.

Given that we didn't actually buy any food (we didn't pay for the cardboard bread), we'll be asking First Table to reissue our $10 voucher.

It’s what you can expect from a hotel restaurant. I had the steak and my husband had the lamb gnocchi which was really yum. Good size deserts. Over all good value for money.

Amazing food as usual.
It was the second time I been there with my partner. Also the second time we had crispy salmon and it was absolutely the best salmon we had in Queenstown.
This time we sat in the bar area nearby the garden area. The staff member was quite thoughtful to ask if the door needed to be closed or not.
Fastastic food and outstanding service!! Highly recommend.

What great staff you have!
Highly recommend Swiss Cafe. Food was tasty.
Love my garlic bread....
Enjoyed our evening.
Thank you!

This restaurant is located in the Swiss-Bel Hotel. The staff were friendly and made sure our request for GF options were OK with the kitchen. The meals were fine given the discounted early dining price. The best dish was the chicken wings (could have had more). The steak was requested as well done but was medium at best. GF Choc Brownie for dessert was delicious!
The restaurant is large and while it has rustic alpine furnishings, it lacks atmosphere. The outlook onto the garden area is nice if you have a window table. The carpet is worn in places and needs replacing.
Overall an OK experience but wouldn’t rush back.

Dined at Swiss with my partner as we call Arthurs Point and love supporting local. The restaurant is a big spacious room inside the hotel with an outdoor area adjoining. We enjoyed the afternoon sun coming through the big windows. We tried a few different things on the menu and we were pleasantly surprised at how it all turned out. The food was simple and tasty. Highly recommend the Crispy Skin Salmon.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Swiss Cafe. The pictures on the website were of a dingy side room ..whereas the actual din8ng area is what you would expect from a hotel dining room, bright, airy and with nice garden views. The staff were very helpful and cheery and the breakfast was a buffet with pretty much the usual spread that you would see in a good hotel.

What a great place to dine in! The dining room was lovely and widely designed, they had a beautiful garden as well. We were quite free to choose, where to sit down, which is great considering we came there with the 50% deal. The waiter made us feel welcome at all times and the food was delicious and they have big plates! We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for it, that´s perfectly fine. Will go there again even without 50% off deal :)

Wow, what a hidden gem! Excellent service, great food. The courtyard was so beautiful, there's soccer ball for my kids to play while waiting for the food. All the staff were very nice and attentive, the food was simple but done well and big portion. Steak was perfect and I liked my mushroom burger. We'll be back and recommend it to our friends and family.

Had a fantastic dinner. Sat by the window overlooking a nice patio area. The food was delicious, and great portion sizes! The service was quick, and the dining area was large and peaceful. Would eat there again!

I went there with my partner and had a such great Sunday evening. It was early evening and wasn’t busy. Philip was the one who served our table and he was amazing. Service was second to none. We had steak, salmon and fries which were absolutely perfect. The best steak we have ever had in Queenstown. Will definitely go back soon!!
