Arnel's Filipino Restaurant

Cuisine: Filipino
Price Point: Mains from $15 - $30

What began as a food cart at the Nelson Weekend Market is Nelson's very first Filipino restaurant. Introducing Arnel's Filipino Restaurant.

A family-run business, this restaurant delivers authentic flavours that have been passed from generation to generation. Its charming story has won a place in the hearts of Nelson's community and the restaurant is thriving. Offering casual dining where the emphasis is on the food, and rightly so!

There's a colourful and flavourful range of mains, all of which come with fluffy steamed rice. Praised as the most popular dish in the Philippines, Adobo awaits your verdict, as does the chicken Inasal and sweet and sour fish. And if you love pork, you might just be in heaven! Pork belly comes in all its delicious forms with the Bicol Express, Ihaw Ihaw, Crispy Pata and Lechon Kawali.

For a touch of drama, opt for a sizzling plate that serves...well... sizzling tofu, chicken, beef, seafood and pork, all in rich sauces. And if you fancy something simple, go for a plate of fried noodles or fried rice. You can never go wrong with one of those bad boys!

A very enjoyable experience at Arnel's in Hardy Street. The shared starter (Quadro) was excellent. We both ordered pork for our mains: my pork belly was succulent, and my partner's pork hock was plentiful. Dessert featured white chocolate dumplings which were delicious! Excellent service throughout. Highly recommended.
