Tying the knot in a 100-year-old theatre
July 2016
It takes dedication and a keen eye to transform an old building into a modern hospo venue. A century ago Auckland’s Imperial building housed a famous theatre with an open air courtyard. Today the classic spot is Everybody's, a lively split-level space for dining, drinking, and events.

Everybody’s has caught the attention of location-savvy brides to be due to the combination of historical features and modern design elements. To meet demand, the venue has laid out a number of ways wedding parties can use the space.
“Our building is perfect for weddings as it combines historical features with a very elegant modern setting.” says manager Alyse Gentry.
The solid physicality of the building is very much part of the show.
“We have alot of features left over from the past,” says Alyse, “like industrial beams and exposed brick walls. We’ve combined these with elegant modern touches we’ve put in like the plants and plush booths that pay homage to that era.”

“Everybody’s is primarily white in colour,” says Alyse, “offset by many large green plants and blush-coloured booths.”
The exposed white walls and vintage features make for excellent backdrops in party photos.
