Located at the mouth of the breathtaking Coromandel Peninsula in the oldest building in Tairua, interiors pay homage to the past with reclaimed floorboards and vintage chairs. However, an al fresco terrace and open kitchen bring it bang up to date.

Chef Graeme Riki has created a menu of classic dishes reimagined with unique culinary flair. Locally-sourced ingredients such as Coromandel oysters and Cathedral Cove take centre stage, so a meal here is always a delicious taste of the seasons.

A large selection of small plates are ideal for sharing, while a small line up of weekly-changing mains are perfect if you’re looking for something more substantial. Crowd pleasers include baked cauliflower in gooey bechamel sauce and crayfish with saffron and spinach.

The drinks list focuses on New World wines, local craft beers and quirky cocktails. Try the Clover Club, a heady mix of gin, vermouth, lemon and raspberry topped with fluffy egg white.
