Feed your body and calm your mind at Town Tonic, Christchurch’s favourite all-day hangout.

Chef Jamie Bennett (Passengers + Co, Riccarton House Bistro, The Local and creator of the Christchurch Farmers' Market) knows a thing or two about seasonal produce and his menus are like an edible tour of the local region.

For breakfast, tuck into eggs every which way (breakfast tacos, anyone?) or opt for something light and nourishing from the ‘honest’ section. Crushed potatoes with walnut pesto and mushroom parfait is the sort of veggie plate that could get even hardcore carnivores drooling.

The dinner menu is equally inventive. Get stuck into starting plates such as sticky tamarind sprouts before moving on to elegant mains including whole flounder with salty miso and seaweed butter.

Fine Kiwi and Aussie wines and light, bright interiors that will have you reaching for your camera are the icing on what is already a very attractive cake. And with menus changing every six weeks to reflect what’s in season, there’s always a reason for a return visit to Town Tonic!

Interesting menu for brunch. Basic choices had a great twist to them. E.g. porridge with sorbet, eggs benny with fish of the day or with pulled pork bon bons and so on. Recommend Town Tonic.,

What a lovely experience we had at Town Tonic. From the outside it looks like a modern box but inside it had a nice ambience with tables of different heights and it was warm! (it was cold outside!) The menu looked really interesting and we just couldn't decide so we ordered 5 starters to share. This was probably one too many but they boxed up what we had left which was great. All the dishes were delicious and all were very different from each other. Some subtle tastes and others much bolder. We probably ate our plates the wrong way round but now that we have been once we will definitely go back and enjoy them all over again. Thank you for the delicious food! A great place to visit before going to Court Theatre!

Food is awesome!! If you want something new than try town tonic, none of the dishes are standard. I had the flounder and it was great, as was the fried chicken entree.
