With endless accolades to its name, including Best Pizza by the Metro, it's time to say 'ciao belli' (hello beautiful) to authentic Italian grub at Pane e Vino.
Pizza is religion so it's only right that this eatery is located in the church-like building in Ponsonby! Even better, it occupies the second floor which affords it one of the best patios in Auckland. Inside, it's a chilled cafe with warm, orange walls, informal seating and like any rustic Italian restaurant, blackboards everywhere.
On the menu are pizzas and pastas made fresh daily. Did we mention that they were voted the best thin bases in the city? With that in mind, can we tempt you to a regina, romana or parmata? If you're a brave soul, opt for the fiery inferno or the meaty feast that is the campagnola. Or, treat yourself to a gourmet pizza. You're worth it!
And if you're in the pasta camp, napkins at the ready for some stellar spaghetti alla bolognese or carbonara. Or are you more of a linguine person?! It takes all types to make this world but all of us love a cheeky shot of limoncello to round off a great evening. Or is it just us?
