Embrace more of the good stuff and less of the bad at Boy & Bird. Championing natural, organic, fresh food and flavours, this restaurant offers a sunny-side-up approach to modern dining.

The colourful and airy restaurant décor is sure to brighten your day. Think quirky fabrics and chequered feature walls. There’s nothing airy-fairy about the food here though, which is created with a serious approach towards sourcing honest, fresh and responsible produce. There’s a cute cartoon devil on the menu beside dishes with something ‘a little bit naughty’ in the ingredients and staff are happy to help advise.

‘Local, farm fresh and free range’ is Boy & Bird’s philosophy when it comes to its chicken dishes. You’ll find a cosmopolitan menu with salads, hot rolls and beautifully presented main meals on offer. Choose between a quarter, half or whole chicken depending on the size of your appetite.

Such an incredible first experience at Boy and Bird that has left me already planning my next meal there! The food was AMAZING, couldn’t pick a favourite dish because it was all just so tasty. Only comment would be that it did take a while for it to come out despite the place being pretty empty at that time but hey, it was worth the wait.

Boy and Bird had beautiful food in a well set out dining area. The portion sizes were just right and dessert (lemon tart) was the perfect way to end a good night catching up with a friend.

I never really heard about Boy & Bird much before but a friend of mine was raving about it as they tried it through first table. A friend and I went and really enjoyed it. With the first table deal we were able to order starters, main and a dessert which were all so tasty. The service was so good, our waitress made sure we were well looked after. I couldn't fault it. I would recommend this to my friends as a great casual dining experience

The food was absolutely amazing!! The buttermilk chicken is the way to go, my boyfriend got the Korean chicken and he loves spice but it’s one made his nose run! Great food and great service

Lovely food and service

Service was fantastic, kimchi mushrooms were amazing. However I was expecting more flavour from the gravy which was a bit bland, as was the bean and broccoli side.

We took our children (6&8) for an early meal and it was great but unfortunately the buttermilk crumbed chicken and chunky chips were "spicy" for our kids. They loved the ice cream and the chocolate milk. The kids fish was a hit too. My husband promises that he'll be back for another chicken liver parfait soon.

Excellent food, we got various starters and then split a whole bird between 3. We were I’ll but satisfied. We had the cauliflower fritters at the recommendation of the waiter, they did not disappoint

Love love love the food here. So fresh and prepared to perfection. One of my fav restaurants in Auckland.

The food was highly priced for a reasonably low quality and a very small portion. The kumara chips were yum but the portion was quite small and the "milkshakes" were just a 200ml bottle of chocolate milk, which was pricey considering you're paying $5. The mains were disappointing, the gluten free bread was really doughy and the brioches were a very small portion, a small, bland roll that had no wow factor. The "epic" Ceaser salad, tasted like every other ceaser salad avaliable, not bad but definitely not epic. The chocolate fondant was yum and the highlight of the meal! But the lemon tart with white chocolate and berries had only a sliver of a strawberry and literally 3 tiny shavings of white chocolate. The Service was great, the waitstaff were attentive and friendly. Boy and Bird was almost empty for the majority of our time there and I'm not surprised, overall we were very disappointed by the tiny portions, bland food and overpricing of boy and bird.

My friends and i had a good feed at boy&bird. Food prices are affordable and presentation wise- thumbs up. Their food choices are good for sharing - the whole chicken was too much for us 4, we even took the half home, maybe becausw we had a lot of sides and appetizers as well. Chicken though was dry, so i had to use most of the gravy- which was not good either. We finished the meal with chocolate fondant- which made our night. The dessert was the best of all that we ordered, and next was the koftas. The chocolate milkshake though was just in a bottle, it was yummy but thought i would get more than just a small
Bottle of chocolate milk drink. I’d rate the whole
Experience at 3.7 - the dessert made a big difference!!

Food was delicious, and came on time. Confit duck purée was really good, but was hoping the duck and chicken could be juicer. Enjoyed the buttermilk chicken quite a lot. Service was brilliant.

I really like my buttermilk chicken hot roll, and my partner loved his dessert - a chocolate fondue and wants to go back just for the dessert! A really cool decor of the restaurant too.

This is probably my 4th time dining here, there's a reason I keep coming back, the food & service is simply amazing. It was my cousins birthday when we dined, we had a huge feast for all 4 of us, shared starters, and an array of mains! That buttermilk chicken is insanely good! My cousin had the half chicken with gravy & chunkies & she said it was the best chicken and gravy she had ever had.. I sneaked in a birthday cake before the others arrived & managed to successfully embarrass my cousin, the birthday girl! I had actually forgot to bring candles, but the amazing staff put a little candle on the cake for me & brought it out! We left some cake with them as a thank you for being so amazing! 11/10 as always!

Really enjoyed the food here, they know how to cook a tasty chook!

Service was great too, was well waited on but not over the top. Food came out quickly as well which was nice as we had a restless toddler along with us.
