At Steamheads, it’s all about delicious home-cooked food and craft beer-a-thons.

You’ve probably guessed from its name that it’s Steampunk themed. Lose yourself in this Victorian world, with quirky, brass gadgets hanging off every nook and cranny, top hats hovering above the tables and rustic wooden furniture for your costumed (or not) posterior.

The menu is hearty and is full of popular favourites. The roasted chicken breast with peas and pak choi is never a bad shout, as is the mustard coated lamb loin. Mind the costume when you’re devouring their sticky pulled pork burger and there’s also a pumpkin and mushroom risotto for any veggies in the house.

Now, at Steamheads, beer is a religion! Consult the website to see what current craft beers are on tap. From Britain’s Britannia Bitter to the American ReWired Brown Ale, it’s more than a drink; it’s an experience. No worries if beer ain’t your thing. That’s what the cocktail menu is there for!

Lovely atmosphere, great service. I had the arancini balls, very tasty, and the seafood chowder, it was a bit too salty but nice and the cream brulee for dessert, it was devine! Lovely place.

We enjoyed our dinner at Steamheads, nice and comfortable environment. I enjoyed my Market fish of the day. The Queen desert was good, suggested to share between two, because it was very rich.

Loved the feel to this place, great decorations and the food was delicious. For an Entree I would recommend the sliders(I had pork), the sauce and flavours were amazing. For the main, my partner and I tried the Pork Belly and Lamb Loin, both were amazing and would highly recommend!

The atmosphere was absolutely lovely, service was great, but the food seemed to be salty, literally. We had ordered steak, and 2x braised lamb shoulder dishes, but the sauce on the lamb was far too salty. However the tahini base was great as it took away some of the saltiness. We also ordered the flank steak which was fantastic. Overall, the lamb was beautifully cooked, just needed a lot less salt.

The food was great, I had pot pie with chicken and vegetables, the mrs had calamari and lamb croquettes all was tasty and good coffee too. Unfortunately part of our meal was dropped in the kitchen so took a long while to come. Accident happen so that wouldn't stop us visiting again.

Had fish of the day pan fried snapper beautifully cooked, and pork loin was also good but just a tad dry. Busy night, service very good

Loved the slow cooked beef cheek and pork fillet looked amazing too. The kingfish wasn’t super fresh but accompanied by such a large portion of veges we really didn’t need the extra broccolini. The choc dome that melted in hot caramel sauce was a real show-stopper and very sweet but a treat we will be bringing the kids back to experience. We enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere and all in all it was a wonderful night.

Very beautiful dishes and place! The waitress are very kind. I love the tea and creamy seafood soup, it’s quite nice. The dessert for me is too sweet but looks beautiful. This restaurant is suitable for taking photos.I recommended this restaurant to my friends.

Was a delightful experience and will definitely return. The home-made kumara chips/shavings served in a glass for the table, on the house while perusing the menu, was a much appreciated gesture.

We 4 of us had flank steaks, fish and lamb for main. Lamb was nice. We ordered one of steak was medium but outside was burn, and inside was almost rare. Fish was good. Usually fish dish was small portion at any restaurants but this restaurant offered generous portion and nice carb (creamy tasty couscous) under the fish. We had Mad hatter (chocolate cake) , Panna cotta and Cream brûlée as deserts. Mad hatter chocolate cake was so dense and hard. We will not order it next time. Panna cotta and Cream brûlée were good. Bright and spacious restaurant and friendly staff. We will come back to try other dishes. Thanks.

Very nice evening, great selection of drinks and nice food, especially the cupcakes!

The ambience and the service was amazing! The waitress was really attentive but not overbearing with lots of smiles. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Spinach omelette. Unfortunately the sour dough toast for our eggs Benedict was burnt. However, everything else was perfect as we were the only table so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Will definitely visit again!

Love the decor, and would love to come back one Friday evening for drinks and see what's upstairs. Food was presented really well, but I didn't order too much to be able to give an honest all-round review on the food. Eggs Benedict was good - the bread was a bit thick though.
